THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 05, 2010 02:09PM
To all pullers &fans, Thunder by the River signed a contract with Outlaw Truck & Tractor Pullers for the 2010 year ,every class to run twice with a Super farm Shootout Sat nite, We have grown into a very large event , yes our Board of Directors looked into NTPA , a great pulling organization , I personally did not attend that meeting , but know them and pulled with them years ago . Thunder has a very good relationship with the Outlaws and the Pullers that compete with them. My personal feelings ,,,,, did the Outlaws have some problems , yes , do we need to move on ,,, yes if we continue to dwell on the past we will never see the future ... I am a tech official and i am moving forward , i dont read feedback because i feel you need to post your name to make comments . PULLOFF is a great tool for info. and items to buy and sell, thanks Jake. In closing i think i know every puller with the Outlaws and look forward to seeing you this year, we can all move forward and give up the negative talk .Thank you Doug Oertwich Pilger Ne THUNDER website to be updated very soon See ya in the dirt .................. Aug 20 & 21 Wisner River Park

Looking forward to another Thunder By The River, very "puller friendly" and good variety of classes!

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 06, 2010 02:42AM
Thanks for clearing this up. The drunk told us at Louisville it was going to be NTPA.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 06, 2010 03:09AM
That isn't very nice to say, considering you are the KING!

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 06, 2010 01:24PM
Frosty, you got that there new chassis yet? Don't forget them new spark plugs in the kitchen drawer before the first pull!

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 06, 2010 03:09PM
Doug whatever happened to the truck? I liked the old school appeal of it.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 08, 2010 09:01PM
Isn't TV kindof a thing of the past anymore, when stuff on youtube can get 15 million hits or more! If Wisner would put together 10 minute so videos of each class and add alittle advertising into each one, they would get alot better bang for the buck! The TV shows they've done in the past have had good production [ every bit as good as ntpa's show], just are on obscure networks [like ntpa also] If they could do some youtube stuff, then advertise so people could watch it, might it work?

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 01:37AM
Must not be outdated, TV is what Wisner wants.
PPL brags about their TV coverage.
Don't see much NASCAR or NHRA drag racing on youtube.
Nope, I'd say TV is where it is at.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 02:49AM
As a past outlaw member, i think it is a mistake to book the outlaws at such a high class show. I know my tractor will be heading east to bowling green this year instead since wisner is booked with outlaw. Maybe in the future wisner should work out a weekend with bowling green and go with ntpa or ppl instead and have a championship pull, not a regional outlaw whos ur daddy doug pull.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 03:06AM
Sounds to me like your Tractor is better off headed east & so are we. Wisner is a high class pull.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 08:18AM
Mr.Puller it is nice you can count to 3.Go east and stay east while we go watch the Wisner pull.Maybe you will learn to count to 10.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 07:18AM
Hope you change things with your beer tent, and regulate things a little better this year so there is not another incident like last year where someone loses their life.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 08:10AM
First off it is sad that the guy died. It is a bad deal all the way around. He got drunk Got stupid and got dead

Now there is going to be lawsuits, because "somebody" should have stopped him from being so stupid. God Forbid that it was his fault for drinking so much and riding on a back of a 4 wheeler even after he had been told not to. Of course it was not his fault That is why the lawsuit is getting put together

This guy was stupid, plain and simple. Why do people cant understand that I will never know.

I could go on but, then again, you know how I feel

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 02:37PM
Point taken, but how owned the 4 wheeler, and who was driving it, when your driving your responsible for the riders.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 08:49PM
Nothing good EVER comes of carousing around on a 4 wheeler at 4 in the morning! It'll make a lawyer happy atleast!

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 09, 2010 11:42PM
Ya see thats the problem. Now its the driver of the 4-wheelers fault. The guy that was dumb ass drunk on the back was not? Come on. He was told to get off and go to bed. Im sorry, but what else can you do.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 10, 2010 01:45AM
The driver was told repeatedly to park the 4 wheeler so he was taking responsibility for what happened, drunk in the back or not.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 10, 2010 02:11AM
Come on guys have a little respect and decency. Travis (the guy that lost his life) had a wife and kids and I know for a fact that the family still visits this message board. Was he drunk, sure. Was he told to go to bed, probably (I didn’t witness it so I won’t say). But let’s face it, most of us have had a few too many drinks before at some point in our life and made a not so great decision. I know all of the parties involved and I was there that night, the next morning, and at the funeral. I am sure if any of them could take back that night and do it a different way, I know that they would. They can’t though. They have to deal with it on a daily basis for the rest of their lives. So unless that night and the events tied to that night directly affect you why worry about it and run peoples names through the mud.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 10, 2010 04:28AM
Not dragging anybody through the mud, my original post just stated that I hoped they put more controls on it so it didn't happen again.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 10, 2010 05:59AM
He should of not been told "several times" to put it away. The second time, he should have been escorted from the grounds!!!!! If you have rules, ENFORCE THEM, pretty simple.

Re: THUNDER BY THE RIVER March 10, 2010 01:26PM
Enforce the Rules? It was an Outlaw Pull, the rules are not enforced at Outlaw Events. They have a rule book for satisfy the Insurance Company. No Rules, run what you brung, if questioned, just pay Doug.... Any Questions?

Just wait until this summer, there definately won't be any rules...
