John Deere 466 oil filter??????? March 12, 2010 01:52PM
I need a different oil filter assembly to work with a John Deere motor with a P pump. I cant adjust the pump without removing filter assembly, Ive heard that one off of another model would work, but I dont know which one. Any ideas?

I think your looking for the stand up filter housing off a 4520

i believe a filter base off a 4320 that mounts the filter upside down is the one your looking for.

where do you get oil feed for charger when you change to 4320 style housing, was thinking about making a plate to cover where the oil cooler mounts to the side of oil filter housing and taping a hole in it to supply turbo. Is this the way others are doing this or is there a better way.

You can use the base off a 60 series row crop tractor. Filter is up right (hanging) and stands higher, plus you use a little better filter.

Not sure about the 4320 housing but i just put filter assembly on mine from 4960 and there's plenty of room for a p-pump with the external fuel screw. Got it from Worthington Ag Parts complete. Go to JD Parts.com and you be able to see what it looks like.

You might look at the housings off a gas motor. I have several I've saved if they'll work for you.

I was told the 4320 housing does work but have the same question on were to get turbo oil from.I bought one before i relized there was no port. There is a port/plug under the filter base in the block?

That plug is to drain the filter before you spin it off. I think the way I said in my last post we are doing the turbo feed will work. on the right side of the housing were the oil cooler would bolt on a 4320 we made a plate to cover this and tapped a hole in it to feed the turbo. I was wanting some feedback on if there was a better way to feed the turbo ,or if others are doing the same.

So does the 4320 housing work the best or the 4960 one?
