Bought an alky tractor and want to know what the DOT rules are on having a barrel of alcohol in your hauling rig.

Never had a problem with alky in our pickup, never had it in a semi.

It goes by weight. You can legally transport up to 1000 pounds of methanol without placards commercial vehicle or not. average 6.63 lbs per gallon. Just make darn sure its in a sturdy container and properly secured.

Thanks everyone.It looks like hauling a 55 gallon drum of alky isnt allowed unless you have shipping papers-etc.Need to get some 5-8 gallon cans and securely fasten them.
