Looking for what this rearend would be, in other words is it a Dana product or ?
It came out of a totaled 2010 Dodge 2500 4x4 crew cab non dually pick up. Are there any DOT tire pick up pullers that would use this type of rearend? any info would be appreciated, thanks. |

most likely an aam11.5 rear.they usually bring twice what a dana 80 does so guys dont buy them specifically for a puller.just some thoughts.i could be mistaken. |

um you might want a dana 80 for pulling, 11.5's are okay but they get expensive to build to hold the power. If you do want to go for the 80 if you have disk brakes get one that has disk brakes. If your under 800 hp you will prob. do ok with the 11.5, the stock locker will hold fine just get you some axles about $1200 for a set that will hold then you have to hone out the axle tubes for them. Just some things to think about |

Its worth 1500+ because its so new. Dodge didnt use a real locker only a clutch type limited slip. GM uses this axle also with a gov-loc locker. Still not real good for pulling because a gov-loc needs about 200 rpm difference in wheel speed to actualy lock up. Acts like an open diff till then. They have large 2.005 inch 30 spline axles. Much larger than the dana 80 ( 1.5 35 spline or 1.63 37 spline )( 1.71 40 spline aftermarket ). The only locker for the aam 11.5 is the arb air locker. Available ratios are 3.42, 3.73, 4.11, 4.56, 4.63, 4.88, 5.13, 5.38. It would be a good street mod/pro stock rear. Its very heavy. Heavier than a dana 80. |
