redoing a forrestor built motor cam was lined up stock timing when tore down but it says install 97 degrees. is the gear installed on the cam to compensate for that? |

Well yes and no. If the engine was dynoed it could have been changed from 97 to optomise torque or horsepower. Most of the time the cams centerline is the the best place to set a cam but you will need to dyno test the engine to be sure. If you can't get to 97 then you will need to invest in a offset key or a adjustable timing gear. What degree is it at? |

cam was in motor with stock timing dots lined up when i tore it down so wasnt sure to put it back the same way or degree it. the motor was never dynoed but has been tore apart by someone else since the motor was bought from you. i have jasons number so ill try him tomorrow didnt want to bother him on sunday |

Did you press the gear off the cam to see if it had a offset key? One tooth would be a lot of change. MACK |
