IH Countershaft Problems

Looking for some help on an IH countershaft. Running an 806 shaft (supposed to be the better one to run from what I was always told) and I can't get it out. Is it possible we twisted this one too (twisted the stock 10 shaft a couple years ago)? This is on a 640 3000rpm profarm. It will move about an inch and that's it, it acts like it is binding between the high cm and 3rd, like inside the countershaft support. I had to cut the last one out, hoping not to again. Is there anything better to use? Thanks for any help. |

we had a chunk of round stock piece of steel we machined down at one end so it would center inside the shaft. then we used a sledge hammer to pound it out. it goes in tight at that end to my knowledge. been a while since i did one. went to a pro fab since then. |

Thanks for the reply. I got it out, I have a good driver, but I had to cut it in two pieces and there is a chunk left in the high cm that I will have to cut some more and press it out. I just can't believe we twisted another one. Is there anything stronger besides going to a Profab? It sure makes it a pain to have to cut out the countershaft everytime I go in there and the splines are twisted, thanks for any more help with this. |

Randy,
It is Andy, the guy that Jeff bought his tractor from. How are things going with it. Did you put different gears in it? Has he pulled it since the Keystone? |
