Cheap easy lightweight frontend May 29, 2010 01:23PM
I am looking for a frontend to put under a homemade frame. Wondering what some of you have used that is readily available and looks pretty decent. Thanks for the help.

i used the steering axle from a massey harris combine, and manual rack and pinion from a ford escort.the axle i used was not real wide like some combine axles are.both were dug out of friends scrap piles, and the price was right.

Yes It is a red one. I had some metal bent and lengthened the stock frame rails. That is my starting point. Not sure about rack and pinion or hydraulic steering leaning tward a closed hydraulic system that operates with no pump.

The steer axle from a wagon running gear will work.Just need to narrow it to your liking.
