Changing classes
|
I'm currently running a superfarm john deere and I'm thinking of changing to light pro. I'm wondering how much of my old parts will work.
How much fuel will a 540 with a 4.1 or 4.25 need? What size injectors would I need? Would my old 640 superfarm cam work? What size turbo can a 540 spin?? |

injectors 5:25 to5:32
pump 800cc to950cc cam could work but would have one cut or made for the 540 torque 540 turbo 3.9 or 4.1 stone dust track 4.25 good luck |

Agreed with red rain.
4.1 charger seems to offer the best variety. Get a cam for what you are doing. |

You should be able to run a bigger turbo, like a 4.25, 4.3.... the guys on the east coast are running 4.4 with a-pumps and 540ci. |

remember that an engine is still an air pump and with an OEM head will only pump so much air. Also the 4.1 will hang in there better on a really tough track. |

4.4 only sounds better on the line its at the end it counts 3.9 , 4.1 |

a 4.1 turbocharger produces the potential air volume to make in excess of 1800hp while a 3.0 turbocharger is about maxed out in the 1250hp range
a buddy of mine changed from a 540 3X4 to a 4.1 and the powerband of the engine moved up over 1000 rpm so a camshaft change is deffinately required to take advantage of the turbo. |
