speeding up a IH 560 rearend July 08, 2010 02:44PM
what would be a better way to go, changing the constant mesh gears, or will a 450 IH ring and pinion fit in a 560?

I put a ring and pinion out of a 400 in My 560 rear. I don't remember the exact ratio of either but the 400 was quite a bit faster. The MTA's, 400's, 450's didn't turn the rpm's that the 560's did in the engine so the ratio in the rear made the diference.

Did you have to change anything major or did it bolt right in??? I know the 400 and 450 are a 19 pinion and 50 ring and I think the 560 as a 11 and 49.
