Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni Pulling Event Provides Local Entertainment Plus Dollars toward Student Leadership Training

The Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni offers two solid nights of engine revin’ excitement as they play host to their annual Fall Truck & Tractor Pull event on August 20 & 21. This event serves as one of the organization’s main fundraising activities and not only provides local entertainment, but also helps enhance learning and leadership opportunities for Sauk Prairie's youth.

Action begins with the Farm Pull at 6:30 pm sharp on Friday, August 20. This local favorite has 8 action-packed classes including a mix of Farm, Hot Farm, and Open Diesel Trucks. Plus three local invite classes for 7,500, 10,000, and 18,000 lb. stock tractors give local farmers a chance to "clean off" their stock tractor and show what they've got. There is no entry fee to participate in these three special classes. These pullers will pull for fun and bragging rights, plus trophies will be awarded.

Pulling excitement continues with the Badger State Pull on Saturday, August 21 as participants take to the track at 7:00 pm. Classes include: Light Limited Super Stock, Pro Farm Tractors, 4-Wheel Drive Super Stock Trucks and Super Farm Tractors, as well as the always thrilling Pro Stock tractors. For more details, visit www.saukprairie.com Calendar of Events listing, or contact Brad Kruchten 608-963-7293 or Greg Elsing at 608-444-7956.

Both nights of the event take place at the FFA Alumni Park located under the eagle water tower in the Prairie du Sac Industrial Park. Admission to Friday night’s Farm Pull is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 6-12 years old, while admission to Saturday’s event is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-12 years old. Children under 6 are admitted free at both events.

The FFA Alumni appreciates the strong support and dedication of local sponsors. McFarlane’s of Sauk City and Firestone Farm Tires- “The Leader in the Field” proudly serve as this fall's platinum sponsor, and Steve's Arboretum is a bronze sponsor. Proceeds from the Alumni Fall Pulling Event will benefit the local FFA chapter and Agricultural Education with dollars going toward the High School Agriculture Department to further our students in ag education.

Beyond funding support, FFA Alumni members serve as educational resources sharing their agricultural expertise as classroom guest speakers, field trip hosts and speaking or judging team coaches. FFA Alumni membership is open to anyone who supports the FFA and agricultural education. For more information contact Brad Anderson, Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni President at (608) 445-6057 or Troy Talford, Sauk Prairie High School Agri-Science Instructor at (608) 643-5960.
