Got a question! What has to be changed to put a turbo on a 856? Engine is gonna get rebuilt and was curious what was needed to put a factory setup on. Just a manifold and oil lines? what about bottom end ex: a966's 414 should have extra oiler in put in top of main bearing journal, the fuel tank needs cut out a little and the aircleaner is small.

There are also extra oilers in a DT407 block that should also be installed in your D407. Also bear in mind that your existing oil filter casting is probably not tapped for the turbo oil supply fitting. You can either drill & tap your existing filter casting, or get one from the donor tractor. If you're going to install an original IH turbo setup on your 856, try & obtain the air cleaner/precleaner assembly as well from the donor tractor. You'll have to either cut another hole in your hood for the precleaner, or get a hood off a 1206 or 1256. Your existing fuel tank should be ok to clear the turbo setup, unless your 856 is an 856 Custom. Aside from that, the exhaust manifold, intake crossover tube & casting, oil supply & return lines should be what you need.

usally if you call a salvage yard you can get an entire setup off a 120 or 56.
