A REALLY good 650" n/a on alcohol would almost hit 1500
If the earth is rotating correctly and the sun is shining just right.

Naturally aspirated mods make around 1500 that's all engine no power adders. A blown engine will make 2500 to 3000 depending on blower and what not.

Diesel trucks are so much funner to watch and sound way better. im pretty sure the 3 turbo diesel wouldnt get beat by and n/a motor.

To each his own. I prefer gas trucks. More noise speed and excitement and I don't have to run from the cloud of smoke.

If you streach out a gasser and let them weigh 8000 lbs, they would sit down and pull better too.
Still be short on power, but a yard of wheelbase and almost a ton of weight make a lot of differance!!

One thing your forgot about is the rpm differance. Given equal weight and wheelbase a gasser would clean up. The top gas trucks turn over 9000+ rpms and a gas engine has a much wider power band. Diesels are all or nothing. Most gas trucks leave the line at close to the same rpm that is max for a diesel. Im sure gearing is much more critical with a diesel (not that its not with gas) but if you gear a diesel to high it dies fast. A gaser will bog down but it take a bigger miss to completly kill it.

One thing to remember is that the modified trucks that are running over 9000 rpms usually go through two or three motors throughout the pulling season. That's why you only see the bigger names twisting them that hard because they can afford to replace their motor. Also to the previous reply, the FWD Modifieds run on Methanol not gas. And with a Modified and a Diesel at 6200lbs a modified will win because they do not have enough weight to hook what they have after they blow the tires loose at the line.

Saw a couple diesel trucks run in a open class 6200lbs bar tires in Woodstock IL this year.
One of them was right with some good runnin mod trucks only a foot or two from the winner.
Dont know how many windmills he was runnin, sounds like it had to be 2-3

Not all 4wd mods run methonal, a couple of the Outlaw boys run gas. Undertaker won an Outlaw championship on gas a couple of years back.

All the super mod diesels I have read about ( Thats all Ive done is read, never realy talked to anyone ) In the diesel magizines made around 1450 hp. About the same as a pro mod 4x4. The differance is a mod makes around 1050lbs of torque. The diesels make 1800+ lbs of torque. Mods 650 ci, diesel 360ci (Cummins). Mod rpm 8800+, Diesel 5000+. 6200lbs compared to 8000lbs. 133 inch wheel base compared to..... well I not sure but much longer. Realy an apples to oranges comparison.

Well, my little 6 cylinder makes north of the 2000hp mark, and the torque, estimated at over 3000ft. lbs. Most single 3.0 charger trucks are flirting with 1400, and a few have more.

I think we need to do a 7100lb class, and see what comes out on top.

www.illinistatepuller.com has a 6200 lb super stock class with 3 diesel trucks in it. All 3 have won at least once this year. 1-3 inch charger is there rules gas trucks 540 cu cast iron heads gas only. very competative

I was calling them gassers because the guy before me refered to the as gas. Buy the way I attend many truck pulls ( just left Bowling Green Sunday) and about 30% of the mod 4x4s run gas with carbs. And yes good ones too.
