can this be done
it would be easer to put a 466 motor. but need to have the stock block for rules. cubes doesnt matter |

Stock block, or stock appearing block? You could put a 407 in there & take the cubes up on a 407. Otherwise, put a 407 crank in the 361. You can always have a 407 crank welded up & have an offset grind done for extra stroke. |

Not sure where you're located, but finding a 407 crank shouldn't be too bad. Finding a complete 407 can be done, too, just gotta keep looking & calling around. As far as sticking a 466 crankshaft into a 361/407 goes, not gonna happen, not in stock form, anyways. At least, I've never heard of it. If someone proves me wrong, then hey, I learned something new today! What kind of cubes are you looking to get? If you have to have a stock appearing block (as in no DT466 shoehorned into an 806/1206), a 407 is the way to go, then bore & stroke it as necessary. I know there's a few guys that have taken a 407 out to 540 cubes. I dunno what they all had to do. 466 cubes out of a 407 is easy, that one I know. |
