IH 407 head... November 23, 2010 10:33AM
I'm looking for information as to what all needs to be done to cut the intake off of a 407 head...how far to go, where to drill and tap etc. Any pointers?

thr 400 series intake is not a tall as the 407 intake runners, we used a 3/4 alum plate and liquid steel to adapt. the real reason that we did it was to us a 400 series intercooler. I sold both heads last year

Im thinking of doing the same thing, but not sure about drilling the holes 4 the new intake. What size pipe would be best to use?

Drilling and tapping would be a shot in the dark at best, I wanna know how far to cut too...

Did you have your head ported also? I just need to know how far to cut in terms of the oil breather and oil feed line, where to tap the holes etc. Would you have a picture by any chance?

Thanks,
Andre
