Hooking up a Tach on a wd45

I have a nos allis tach. Probely for a combine. I want to use it on a 226 ci 4cy allis wd45. I'm not sure I can use the neg side of the coil. And I don't want to burn it up doing it the wrong way. Any sugestions? I'm using a one wire alternator if that makes any difference. |

I believe the tack you have don't run off the alt. or coil. It runs off a pickup and counts the teeth on flywheel. MACK |

Depending on what type of tach you want this looks like it would work well:
[www.glowshiftdirect.com] This is the tach that I will be using and I only run about 2000rpms.... |

You know that massey harris is capable of more than 2000rpm. Crank her up! lol. Looks like a sharp 'tinquer.
