After a very frustrating yesterday night, where the engine wouldn't start, the boys found out what it was all about this afternoon - broken Cam sensor. Replaced it, hit the starter button and:

Given the fact the two engine (77) class is not very important for us as it's not part of the Euro Cup series, the top engine is of real minor concern. We really love the light (55) mod class this runs in and want to do well against the in-line 6 alkies, griffons, twin hemis and triple chevy's.
Of course this is also the test bunny for the big tractor, getting the bugs out of new stuff. Goals right now: Get this to run down the track, get fuel map right, make sure the drive is trouble free, so all this could go onto the big tractor. Then work on the next step, which could very well be a bigger Procharger. Floating Finish - the German Tractor Pulling Web Show and EU Live Streams: [www.youtube.com] |

Sascha--I could not see a strap across the blue rubber boot tying the charger to the pipe to prevent blowing the two apart. Do you have one on the back side? Your workmanship really looks first class. Let us know how it runs when you hook it! |

There is one in the back!
Now.. long story short: 4800 rpm instantly, hit rev limiter, supposedly a broken coupler between engine and Pro Charger at 30m. Excellent Data (needs a little bit of fine tuning because of a different intake manifold as far as it concerns the balance of the cylinders), WAY better A/F ratio (can you say efficiency!?) at pretty much alike EGTs, same boost pressure as with the original charger. Rolls Royce / Rover Meteors with Allison Superchargers. The Meteor is the N/A version of the Merlin.
There used to be dozens of thefor sale here when the tanks using them were taken out of service in Switzerland and Scandinavia. In the last 3 to 4 years they got a little rare (pullers stocking them). If you want one badly, you can get them... But it takes a lot of work to get them to make power and some series are not of the best built quality compared to their relatives out of the aircraft service.
