I have a big block 6030 and I was thinking about machining the axles down but I'm not sure how far I can machine them down without weakening the axle. Does anyone know of some general dimensions that they should be set to? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Why not put 5010 or 5020 axles on it? 3 5/8 inch

are 5010 or 5020 axles any smaller? so i can machine my axles down to 3 5/8 with out weakening them? appreciate that info and the help

Your 6030 axles are probably 4 inch. I wouldn't try machining them down because they are case hardened and would be more likely to break.
