IH german diesel engine parts swap comparisons February 09, 2011 12:13PM
Hello all, we are contumplating the thought of turning a 310 engine into a 358 in a 706 to pull in a farm stock 7500 class. measured the block height difference is only 3/4 of an inch. will the 358 rotating assembly fit into the 310 block with no problems? anyone out there ever try this yet? is there any other crank options that could get us out over 400 cubes? thanks to all

Was told the swap from 310 to 358 ain't that hard. For the 402 crank you better have the big block (lots of grinding necessary otherwise - also the 402 block is a lot stronger).
You an try to get an answer out of Hans Peter Stratmann, he did this in the past. "jostrav@aol.com"
