Sully is right! The fuel tank on a 9 will hit the turbo unless u cobble the tank with a sledge hammer or switch it over to a 10's. The turbo exhaust will not fit out the 9's hole unless u want to cobble that also by using the torch. So if u don't no then don't say! Smokinya 880 |

Ok when I put a turbo on my 966. I bought all the related parts from a 1066 (manifold, turbo, oil feed and return lines, crossover pipe, air cleaner housing) I did modify my tank .............cleanly not cobbled up........... but if you can buy the 1066 one it would be better. AND I DIDNT have to do anything to the tin work other than put it back on.................. no alignment issue. |

The exhaust didn't come out the same hole on my 966 we had to move it back about 5 inches. Better off to try to find a 1066 panel unless different years had different hole placement. |

isn't that bad. our 966 had a m&w turbo with exhaust manifold everything to come out of the na hole in the sheet metal. we bought it like that 20 years ago and we were the 2nd owner. it was like new. had a dt414 in it but put a dt436 in it last summer and did nothing to the tank except not bolt it in the holder, bent the shield in front of it some and cut a bigger hole about 3 inches back from the other location from na hole. wasn't hard pretty simple. |

Didn't the 966 use a 12" clutch and the 1066 a 14"? |

Everyone is forgetting the most important thing, piston oil squirters. If you put a turbo on a 966 and crank it up, youre probably gonna burn some pistons unless you put the extra squirters in. |
