Is it legal to run say mxm sheetmetal on a case tractor? im thinking of a 1370 as an example. is that legal or do you have to use an ih tractor?

Also the big question is: What is better to run in the SF class; the ih dt466 or a case 504? i will be running new case ih sheetmetal so it doesnt matter which so i want to build what will be the best winning motor. what overall tractors are better and easier to build? Looking for any and all insight on this so i can build a good tractor

You can run any case/ih sheetmetal you want. The red guys will whine but the fact is Tenneco owned Case before they bought IH. So if they won't let you run the red sheetmetal tell them to have the red guys change all theirs back. Will end that discussion! Most case guys will run case sheet metal though. Also if you run 7100, 7200, or 8900 sheet metal, then the top center section hood is the same dimention as 90 and 94 series case and caseih sheet metal as 2090, 2290, 2094, 2294. I also think 1896 and 2096. Now if you want easy and cheap to build then build the IH motor. The parts are more readily available and most everyone can get the same thing. If you run a 504 then it will take money but can be done.

if you go with 504 call karl kaun 1-262-719-9338 he has some damn good runnin super farms and limited pro motors out there, i will give you a little advice ask him about rear end work also you need the right gears to go with that motor
