wet clutch May 23, 2011 09:38AM
Wanting to add a fifth clutch disk to our 4430 wet clutch setup. Was wondering if someone has done this and could tell me what to machine if needed and if you can still adjust it with the standard tool. Thanks for any info

the front pressure plate against the flywheel take 100 thousands off the face use 4430 pto floaters & add a disk use 4440 rings on the factory adjusting tool make sure your clutch pressure is @ 200 to 205 psi & youre good for approx. 1000 hp

Yes it can be done. We did it. The plates and flywheel have to be machined, but I don't remember how much. Sorry I'm not more help.

Chris, Just to be sure you take the thick floater out and use 2 thin pto floaters and 3 disks instead and the pto side would remain the same or in this oder disk, pto floater, disk, pto floater, disk, then on the pto side disk, pto floater, disk
Thanks again
