dt 466 counter bore question May 29, 2011 11:59AM
I have a heavy webbed 466 that when I took it apart, 2 of the 6 holes had been cut and have shims under them.does anybody have anyideas for this block in a pulling application? Or will the shims not hurt anything?

Are you using the block for a 466 or going bigger? Do you have a good diesel machine shop by you? They can resurface the deck and redo the counterbores and make them the same. In my opinion I do not think shims would cause a problem as long as all your sleeves end up at the same hight. Will you be using fire rings?
