GOOD NEWS FOR THE MOTORSPORTS WORLD June 26, 2011 09:14AM
This project has been talked about for awhile now,but finally the deal was signed for the new Americus Motorsports Park in Americus,Ga.Read the attached link to a recent article in the Americus Times Recorder newspaper.
We have met with Mr Bryce and he has indicated that he would be interested in having tractor pulls at this facility. But like any other new venture it will need support from pullers and fans.We would appreciate it if you as a puller or fan would contact Mr Bryce (www.starracing.com) and let him know you would support this new venue for pulling. This facility will have a NHRA 1/4 mile dragstrip and a 2 mile road course. It will also have garages, shops and other motorsports "support" business's on site.Several motorsports builders and manufacturers have indicated interest in relocating their business's on or near this facility. We are very pleased to have just located our business within a couple of miles of this new facility. There are 450 acres on this site,so it will be a very roomy and "user friendly" facility. There is also additional acreage next to it for expansion if needed.
My hat goes off to the Sumter County/Americus regional planning officials, the commissioners and all involved for their committment to make this project work.
Please contact the Bryces and let them know you will support this facility.Or you can post your support here. Also contact your favorite Tractor Pulling Sanction body(NTPA or PPL) and let them know to get onboard!
This is very good news especially in an economic climate we have been experiencing the last few years.
Construction is slated to start in the next few months.
