Changing Injection Pump to self contained Oil? July 04, 2011 01:59AM
What does it take to change a P-Pump to a self contained oiling, instead of oiling from the engine.. I don't think I'd try it without having a pump shop do it.. but Just curious to know what it takes.
Thanks,
Bryan

Just braze the oil return hole closed on the front bearing support. I think you can get a factory support with no hole. Then fill 30oz oil. Thats it!

You need to make sure that your front bearing plate is bored out to take a seal some are not some are, either way you wll also need a seal on the pump camshaft.
