In the East here Limited Pro is 540 "A" pump as big a charger you can spin, usually 4.1 (some are larger) 8,500 lbs.

Some organizations in the Midwest for years have called their 466 cube/3" turbo class "limited pro stock". So it can be confusing sometimes. With the new limited pro class on the scene now, maybe those organizations our here should rename the 466 class "limited super farm" or something like that.

Re: Limited vs. Light Pro stock July 07, 2011 12:21AM
Yes, Limited Pro is 640 CID with a 4.1" intake limit on the turbo (it's essentially a Super Farm with a bigger charger)

but...

Light Pro is 540 CID with no turbo limit. There are some guys running 4.3 turbos in Light Pro and I believe that Palmer's have had some luck with a 4.5" on certain tracks. Light Pro will probably have a little more color because of the lower cube limit.

Both classes are P-pump limit

This page is a free service. The cost is covered out of my pocket. It takes a great deal of time and a fair amount of money to keep this website going. Donations for: photos, classified ads, forum discussion, etc... are appreciated.

Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal.

All of those classes should be lumped together. Most of the Super Farms (the ones without intercoolers anyway) always power out at Bowling Green, which doesn't take nearly the power it used to since they changed out the dirt a few years back (Bad choice. That ground looks more suited to growing corn than pulling. It needs some good red clay in there.)

The idea is have one set of matching set of rules so people can pull anywhere in the country if they desire, thus eliminating the confusion of classes between the fans. Nothing is cheap in pulling, but keep the cubes at 540 or less. That would help in the idea of "limited." Just run 8500 lbs, 4.1 charger and any size pump, since it's easier to turn up the wick on a P-pump than an A-pump.

a 466 3by4 LIMITED PRO STOCK will mop a super farms tail. so im sure the limited super farm would be even more confusing when they would get beat.

Re: Limited vs. Light Pro stock July 07, 2011 03:48AM
Pretty sure a true 466 with a 3x4 would not keep up with a high level superfarm. Unless you are in KY and that little blue bottle is involved.

Re: Limited vs. Light Pro stock July 07, 2011 03:59AM
maybe some crap NTPA rules following superfarm would fall to a 466 with a 3x4 but not a legitimate PPL tractor

Re: Limited vs. Light Pro stock July 07, 2011 11:22AM
Super Farm used to the big class and now with all of the new limited classed that keep popping up has anyone ever given a thought to bumping the Super Farm class to a 3"x4" turbo that would definately re-energize the class and make it more impressive to watch at not much more cost

Hey Blown Smoke, I thought you were the resident expert in all the pulling world. At least that's what you try to impress upon us in WI. Once again you get your facts WRONG. For once would you please investigate before you blow smoke, Limited Pro is 640 and 4.1 charger whereas Light Pro is 540 and any size charger.

From me to you, thanks,
