1175 pro farm July 14, 2011 05:07AM
Was wondering if anyone has built a case for profarm. Just wondering how they worked out and how good they compete. Thanks

Can be done, I'd check with some the participants from Gordyville, (see links, events, Klint's website) to share both good build ideas, and I'm sure a few failed experiments, to quide you along the way. A local 1030 470cu in 3000 rpm tractor in KY is very competive, and adds color to the 10000 Hot Farm class--photo is of a similar tractor, if not too large to post!!

There is a case that pulls in Badger State that ran good last night in Marshfield Profarm

I will be pulling a lot in centeral and eastern mn and some western wisconsin. I would like to make it for the NTPA profarm. I don't need it to be the best of the best right away but would like it to run strong. Is a 1175 going to be able to get down to 10000 if i remember right they weigh about 12,000. I just thought that would be the best engine, pump, and tranny set up.

Re: 1175 pro farm July 15, 2011 01:33AM
you'll probably want to find a 870/970/1070 8 speed rearend. The 1175 outboard planetaries will be so heavy I think it would be hard to get weight down and still balance it. I know what you mean by adding color! I run AC's for the same reason, to add something different! Good luck! Ed.

There is a 970 that runs sometimes in Badger State class and runs real well usally top 3. He doesnt run the entire schedule but when it runs it is very competitive. He had it for sale last fall on pulloff.

What would be the best motor and head to use. I'm thinking I could get one going and be ready by spring time.

Dean Johnson from Luck pulls a 1175 case in the farm stock classes. his tractor runs really nice. He will be at the Luck pull this weekend. There is also another 1175 that pulls in northwestern wisconsin but i dont know his name. Last year he pulled at luck.

Re: 1175 pro farm July 16, 2011 02:06PM
Not to be an @$$ but there is a big difference between farm stock and pro farm. I think I seen that tractor before and it does run very nice. I just want to run a little hotter than farm stoc.

Case I think you called me but since I live where there is no service your number did not show up. I will gladly return your call if I have a number.

Thanks
