hey guys just wondering what i can do to a 301cid ih to wake her up. is there any big bore kits i can get or what about different cams or heads. will it handle a small turbo. any help would be great thanks.

Put a downdraft holley 2 or 4 barrel on a stock motor and turn it loose, that will gain ya 50 horse

If your rules allow it, Keystone makes a turbo for the gas 301. Down draft carbs are almost universally prohibited, but they perform if you are allowed. They can be tweaked to run high rpm, but safety equipment is required, and it will put you in a different class. I have heard of them running up to almost 500 cubes, making some serious power, but that will cost serious money to do it!!

keep side shields on and no one will no diff. sure makes em run especially if you build your intake out of mandrel bent pipe.

Yes you can run a turbo on it I have a c301 that runs 3000 rpm with a t04e turbo and I am running an updraft carbureator. If you association will allow turbos I am actually trying to sell my tractor as a turn key.

sounds like you have a lot of options on what you can run. why use a 301 when when u can use a 501 or how about a dt 360 or 466 with turbo. there is a tractor that may fit your needs for sale in ny. has turbo on it. call him for details. he cant run turbos in his club now.

we do have some rules.. 410 cid limit 4000rpm and 3" turbo in and out.. just looking to build something a little diff.

Can you use a 4 barrel carb as it is very easy to turbo a gas and get very reliable hp. Have built a few that work very well.
