Steel Nose in SBJD cam July 21, 2011 02:51AM
Is anyone willing to share the specifics of putting a steel nose in a SBJD cam? Specifically, how deep to go into the cam journal.

Thanks

We went in about half way through the first journal. we left a stub shaft sticking out and put a bearing for an alternator and welded a support to the front cover. this was about 15 years ago shortly after we did this we went to a billet cam.

bore truogh the first cam bearing diameter and cross drill for a .375 press fit dowel to keep it in place. Use 4140 for stub, lol fritz
