Blowing head gaskets and blowing off top hose with cooper head in place. head seems to be fine. need help on what to look for. |

If you're only using 1/2" studs? I think you have an old 8000 block. 9000 and on had 9/16 fastners. You will probably have to fire ring or piano wire the head if much over 30-40 psi of boost. Good 9/16 studs with arp lube will take 160 ft/lbs of torque. I would not try that with 1/2" studs. |

try putting a stock head gasket in this tractor, if you blow that gasket you either need to plane your head or block. If the head and block are true you will not blow a stock head gasket witha 3lm and 9,5mm pump. Without using firerings with a cooper gasket you won't be able to seal it there is to much surface area and you won't get a good seal. |

Had the same problem on a ford 401 with 1/2 bolts. I had my timing set at 32. All I did was turned the timing down from 32 to 28. |
