what engine August 02, 2011 12:57PM
hey guys looking for the right ih engine for a pro farm 4000rpm single 3" turbo 410 cid limit class. is it the 360, 361,407? whats the best one to make some power without spending a bundle. thanks any help would be great.

360 is good but I would use a 414 and decube it or if they would allow 1% over then it would be right on.

is decubing expensive. how do yoou go about doing it

Re: what engine August 03, 2011 04:53AM
Right now a 414 has 4.3 bore and if taken down to 4.28 then your at 410 CID. It is so close it is too bad they don't allow 1% over on CID. The 414 stroke is 4.75

Re: what engine August 03, 2011 05:11AM
Dang it posted message before it was done. I was saying that the stroke is 4.75 so if you take that down to 4.7 then you would be at 410 also. I have never decubed a engine before so not sure on expense and not sure what would be the best route. It will seem expensive either way because your only going 4 cubes.

Re: what engine...DT 408 August 03, 2011 06:54AM
If it's legal the DT408 would be the way to go.

will have to see if they are legal. arent they a newer style engine? will they bolt up to a 06 series rearend. and arent they all electric.
