What is the lowest weight anyone out there has gotten a farmall350 down to? Looking for 4000lbs or less. Any chances of that? |

They were 5300 from the factory, for a row crop, that would take a lot of diet. Might have a better chance with a utility. |

Use aluminium top plate on trans, remove casting under dash supporting the steering wheel and fab up replacement out of 1" box 1/8" wall.Look at your weight brackets.Your tractor is nose heavy,if the front bracket is made out of 1/2" thick steel, build a new one with 1/4".Here are a few more things that work but most people don't like;First LOSE THE T/A,most people don't know how to shift them while pulling anyway, second go to band brakes instead of the disc brakes.Third pull the pto and gut all pto parts from the transmission.fourth build a new front end and use 12"tires,fifth run 14.9 6 ply tires on the rear instead of 15.5's,sixth run no more than 2 gals of gas in gas tank, seventh drain the oil from the rear end and install an electric pump to pump oil to all bearings then run 5 gals. of oil.I hope this helps,by the way I used to do the wrenching on a Farmall H that pulled in 3500 and had to weight up for that.A 350 is an improved H.Oh yea we were making 100 hp too,fun tractor to pull. |
