Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 08, 2021 01:04PM
We heading down a road where China will have more free speech on the internet than the USA.

Today Twitter permanently banned President Trump.

There are alternative to Twitter... the leading alternative is Parler, which is a Free Speech platform that has gained serious momentum lately...

Apple Has Threatened To Ban Parler From The App Store
Google suspends Parler app from Play Store

So big tech has decided that it can limit access to speech that it deems "unfit". Twitter, Facebook, and Google support censorship and are pouring fuel on the fire of millions of people who feel disenfranchised.

Social Media Censorship is an affront to everything that America stands for.

Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 08, 2021 01:40PM
Didn't Congress subpoena some of those group leadership to testify and were curtailed severely with limitations ?

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 08, 2021 02:28PM
They met with Congress... they talked... the heads of the big tech firms said they'd do better and so Congress did nothing.

These big tech companies have Government protection under Section 230. It provides immunity to social media companies like Facebook and Twitter against being sued over the content on their site. Basically it says they are platforms and that they don't publish the content. By saying they are platforms they are supposed to allow ALL speech as long as it doesn't violate any laws. Sadly Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc... are acting like publishers and only allowing certain speech. They get the protection of a platform but aren't held accountable for their censorship.

Those who control the flow on information control the world and big tech is making sure it's under their control.

It's getting pretty bad! The Harris Administration hasn't even been sworn in yet and their staged plan for supporting the New World Order / Globalism / Socialism is at wide open throttle as we speak.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 08, 2021 02:47PM
Agreed. It will only get worse when President Harris takes over.

Tech censorship is actually one of the most important (and barely covered) news stories of 2020 and now it's gotten way, way, way worse. If Apple and Google won't let people have access to any real free speech alternatives to Facebook and Twitter they are essentially guaranteeing that those two companies have a monopoly and also have the ability to limit ANYONE and EVERYONE's speech when they deem it necessary.

Here's a link to the Android Parler app download from another app store:
https://apkpure.com/parler/com.parler.parler/download/2050200-APK?from=versions%2Fversion

Parler is a Free speech alternative to Twitter... it's also not anything like the mainstream media says.

I'm pretty sure I've seen posts get deleted on here from time to time.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 08, 2021 03:27PM
First, I never claimed to be a platform and I don't have Government protection.

Second, I've made it very clear through the years that this pages forum is for pulling related discussion (this off-topic forum is new and has less restrictions) and I've also made it abundantly clear that this is a family friendly page and a certain level of language is not allowed. That covers about 99.8% of the deletions through the entire history of this page.

Third, there are no banned users of this page. Zero. Everyone who wants to can still post.

Forth, the forums on this page are for threaded discussions about specific topics, it's each page users responsibility to stay on topic or they run the risk of getting moderated. It's not a series of random comments that stand on their own like Twitter... Facebook, etc...

Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc... are similar to this page and have moderators and remove content just like this page... that's not at all what I'm talking about in this thread. The tech censorship that is currently happening is the deletion of accounts, the banning of users... the REMOVAL of apps from the App stores that are simply allowing FREE SPEECH.

I agree with Jake on this one Grubby must be butt hurt over something? He's just like the liberal minded administration that was just placed into office. Riots and censorship is ok as long as it fits your agenda. Heaven forbid if the liberal voice is censored in any way. I will never understand why or how anyone can think this way other than they are POWER HUNGRY TYRANNY THIRSTY THUGGS!

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 08, 2021 05:58PM
Unfortunately I don't think we will recognize this country in a very short time. Does anyone else see the correlation between this & the suppression of face to face contact, be it county fairs, tractor pulls, back yard gatherings, church services,? those are just too difficult to control & monitor what is being said & who is saying it. Score one more for the China Virus !! Remember 2 weeks to flatten the curve ?

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 09, 2021 01:03AM
I'm saying this tongue in cheek of course but it looks like they were breaking into the wrong building the other day. I personally think it's big tech and social media calling all the shots and pulling all the puppet strings.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 09, 2021 03:38PM
Almost like this whole thing since last spring was a coordinated attack on our social norms, our culture and traditions. Even if we get over this virus, what happens next flu season, does everything get shut down again since the general public is now conditioned for that response? Are our enemies taking notes on how we've responded to this and how to use it to their advantage either before this one is over or introduce their own virus to us next time? I don't have the answers but I've got questions.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 09, 2021 02:32AM
Spin it however you want, but you complaining about censorship, when you do it yourself is a joke.

Grubby, first, thanks for being predictable. I almost wrote this response preemptively last night knowing how you'd respond but it was too late and I wanted to go to sleep. Let me make this is simple as I can so you can understand:

I am a publisher according to the law:
I am liable for the things on this website. ME. I can get sued if someone posts hateful rhetoric and it results in violence. I can get sued if someone slanders a business and it hurts their business. I can get sued if someone defames an organization. Therefore, I HAVE to moderate this page. ALL THE LIABILITY ON ME!. Do you understand that? The law requires me to moderate... REQUIRES me. I can't make it any more simple than that. Moderation is necessary for me to run this page. I am a website, not a platform. Again, since you seem slightly obtuse, by having this forum I have liability and moderation is required by me as the sole owner of this website. I am considered a publisher and I allow people to publish content. The burden is on me. That's not me putting a spin on it... THAT IS A FACT. You can pretend I censor you in some way (deleting a post that violates the simple guidelines is not censorship!) but I only moderate posts the violate the (very simple and basic) rules that I need to minimize my risk of a lawsuit. Again, since you can't seem to get it... Moderation is required for me to run this website. That's as simple and basic as I can make it... anyone who can't understand this must have the IQ equivalent to a tree stump.

Big Tech are platforms:
Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc... are protected under section 230 and they are exempt from lawsuits because they are platforms. EXEMPT! They have exactly the opposite protections under the law! You can't sue them! By them agreeing that they are platforms (again, not a publisher, but a platform) they also agree that they won't censor speech they disagree with. Think of a platform like a phone... you can say what ever you want to whoever you want and the platform simply gives you a place to do that.. just like a phone call. Again, they are platforms! That's what they agreed to. Here's the problem, they are acting like a publisher and they are not allowing free speech. Back to the phone analogy, image if your phone carrier interrupted your phone call and said that they don't like what your talking about so they are hanging up the call for you! You'd be outraged. That's not their job and that's not what a platform does. Sure they own the towers or the lines etc... but they don't control the speech that happens on their platform. Big Tech is protected like a platform yet they are acting like a publisher and telling us what we can and can't talk about. They aren't supposed to have it both ways. They are platforms just like the phone carriers are.

I know I'm wasting my time writing to you because you just want to argue and disagree no matter what I say without actually critically thinking, but I'm also writing this to anyone else who doesn't quite get the publisher vs. platform distinction. I know it can seem confusion and arbitrary but the phone company is the best analogy I can come up with to make it clear for people to understand what a platform is. It's clear that the rues are not being followed and big tech gets all the protection and has taken ZERO liability or responsibility while wielding unfair control over its platform... Meanwhile other groups have no protections, ALL the liability and no real control. That is my issue with what is happening.

Theres been more death from abortion than the China Virus but you won't hear anything about that, people like gruddy thinks thats ok, you'll never hardly ever hear the media tell numbers about how many babies are murdered just how many china virus deaths.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 09, 2021 01:05AM
600000 to 800000 depending on whose numbers you use.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 09, 2021 02:27AM
Another thing. If you have kids who are supposed to be in school, but instead are doing classes on Zoom. Be aware that #1,you are allowing god knows who directly into your home. Like all these other platforms they have voice & facial recognition capability. If you receive anything from the school to sign, be it wanting you to agree not to monitor any of your child's classes,( I have a relative who received one ) that speaks for itself. If it's a school owned computer or other equipment be extremely cautious. At least some districts in Tennessee were trying to claim that the room in which their equipment was set up was "school property. I don't know how the courts ruled on that, but I would make sure any such equipment was unplugged sitting out in the garage when not in use & nothing of consequence visable in background when it is in use. Think white sheet.

Just about anything you talk about shows up on you tube heck I swear they can read my mind at times

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 09, 2021 02:30AM
With political correctness and privacy rights, we have been curtailed already for a long time on free speech, and with other issues I won't mention.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 09, 2021 11:29AM
Well the speaker of the house doesn't seem to have any restrictions on her. Yesterday she took it upon herself to go to the joint chiefs of staff & ask them to take the president of the united states out of the equation in regards to the nuclear codes & made this known to the world. Now if that is not dangerous & reckless behavior I don't know what is. If not so serious, almost laughable considering she's an ancient old woman who struggles to keep her dentures in & those codes, in theory at least ,will soon be in the hands of a pretty obviously senile old baffoon.

Re: Big Tech Censorship Reaches New Heights January 09, 2021 02:40PM
This video is quick, but it explains why Free Speech is dying. It won't be killed by Government, but it will be snuffed out by private businesses.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOksvPAuqOk

I don't know anything about the creator of this video but it's quick, clear and concise.

As a side note Parler also just got kicked off of Amazons Web Services. That means Parler has 24 hours to find a new web-hosting company and move it's entire platform and all it's files to the new server. This is a coordinated attack and this is part of a digital coup to control this country. That's not an overstatement of hyperbole, that's exactly what's happening right under our noses. Big Tech has become more powerful than any Government. Truly scary for those with their head out of the sand.

So now all the big tech companies have colluded and officially black balled parler. Inch by inch, closer to civil war. And I’m not just being dramatic.

I think everyone reading this would agree that a majority of the attendees of the recent “Capitol Hill Riot” were there because of actions such as these being taken by social media outlets. I am in no way saying those nuts that went inside the Capitol were justified or right. What I am saying that most Trump supporters or at least anti-Biden/Harris/Liberals are starting to stand up and voice their views. You cannot expect any person or people to day in and day out be called deplorable, Nazi, racist, misogynistic, sexist, white privileged, and on and on - to just keep getting bashed. All the liberals, media, corporations, and cancel cultural police continue to do is put their literal foot on their neck (pun intended!). I am, by no means, a conspiracy theorist. But, I do have eyes and ears. I also have a mind that can think for itself, thank you!

Re: New video / very interesting January 10, 2021 04:34PM
Something has to have the leftist very nervous to act so irrational as to talk yet another impeachment or even more bizzare, 25th amendment with 10 days left.. Especially considering they have nearly every aspect of government at their command. The justice dept. . A total joke. The Supreme court ? You see what all those constitional justices were worth. Nothing. The southern district of New York federal court ? Political assassins. Our security apparatus ? Long ago refocused from protecting the national interest to protecting the political globalist from we the people. Even the military. When the joint chiefs of staff would meet with a decrepid old woman to discuss & give the world the impression our nuclear arsenal is insecure, something is beyond wrong. Any rational person, love trump / hate trump , has to start sensing something is really wrong here. They must feel it's something even the state media can' t control & who knows, maybe that video says it. I am shocked it ever made it up.

Re: New video / very interesting January 11, 2021 12:30AM
Remember when Obama said that the United States of America was no longer a Christian nation, its exactly what the Democrats wanted to hear, if this country doesnt wake up soon its in for a disastrous out come.
