Pretty sure they use Pinesol in the water at BG.

Re: Scales - 4 days ago

I have pulled on the scales, been told I was 100 pounds heavy, backed off, pulled back on, and was then 100 pounds light. I did it to prove the point that scales set on dirt can't be consistent.

Re: Fendt crowd - 4 weeks ago

I'm sure the fair's expenses are the same today as they were in 2019. Sled rental fees alone are probably 50% higher, insurance the same, not to mention the cost of every single thing they have to pay for being higher. I've been to numerous NTPA, PPL, and Outlaw pulls where it was $20 to get in, and the stands were packed. Maybe you should promote the pull and show them how to do

Re: What's the point of rolling coal? - 5 weeks ago

If I have my window down, and some 17 year old driving a truck daddy paid for rolls smoke in my window, I'm going to consider my rights interfered with. There's a time and a place where it wouldn't bother me, but the jerks doing that and smoking out people on the sidewalk are out of line.

Re: New Bowling Green seatback rules - 5 weeks ago

Lots of folks there will spend $25 or more per day on beer and think nothing of it, but $5 to rent a seat so that the easy chair seats aren't a problem is too much. I've used a seat for years thar maybe went 1 inch past the bleachers. The guys behind us work with us so we position everybody so we aren't intruding, and the row behind them does the same. We all have extra seats so

Bowling Green stadium seat rentals - 6 weeks ago

Son sent me a screenshot of stadium seats that will be for rent this year. Looked on the NTPC website and didn’t see anything on there about it. Anybody know the scoop?

Re: What puller has hooked the most times? - 2 months ago

Some of those guys in the 60’s and 70’s hooked 5-6 nights a week. That’s almost a season for some guys today.

Where to get a torque converter - 2 months ago

Looking for a 4,500 RPM stall torque converter for a THM350 I run in a classic modified behind a 700ish HP SBC. Need a higher stall than I'm running now to get on top of the engine faster. Anyone have suggestions? Can find a few but don't want to spend $1500 or more if I don't have to.

Re: what is safe max rpm for a 6 cyl.diesel cast flywheel ,2600 rpm ? - 4 months ago

After a whole bunch of heating cycles from slipping it off the line, it will be getting cracks. Out in a steel one.

Lost another legend - 4 months ago

Lowell "Tommy" Thompson of Plymouth, Illinois, passed away April 3. He pulled an 806, then an 856, starting in the 60's. He was a class winner at the first NFMS tractor pull in 1969. Saw him pull many times as a kid. He was a hard charger, and always a threat to win. He was also a good friend of mine. RIP, Tommy. I'll drink one in your memory.

Re: Steering Wheel Quick Release Hubs - 4 months ago

Yep, just get a fine spline hub and you can always get it close to how you want it. I don't think I have ever seen one where the wheel would only go on in one position. Only difference I have seen is 6 spline like a 540 PTO or fine spline like a 1,000 PTO.

Re: Sandpile wins - 4 months ago

A lot more goes into setting the sled than the number of bricks in it. Box speed, where does the pan drop, when does the push down come on, etc.

Re: Sandpile wins - 4 months ago

Watched a sled view of Sweet Pain hitting the pile. Good thing he had belts on or he would have left the seat. That thing stopped in a hurry.

Re: Sled history - 5 months ago

Watkins sled was a Ford cabover semi truck with a kingpin on the bottom of the front axle that went into a fifth wheel on the pan. To return to the start, the fifth wheel was unhooked, he backed the sled to the starting line pulling the pan with chains attached to the truck. The weight box was mounted behind the cab and moved forward to weight the pan. At least that's the way I remember it.

1953 Super M. Doesn't get used much, just move some wagons around or run an auger occasionally.

Re: Has anyone ever spoken with John Deere corporate? - 5 months ago

And Deere sells lots of consumer products like lawn mowers and compact tractors that would appeal to the NASCAR crowd.

Re: WORTHLESS DemoStructive party - 7 months ago

You've been watching different videos than I have if you think all these protestors is doing is filming. They have been blocking the ICE vehicles with their vehicles and bodies, shooting Roman candles at the officers, assaulting them, barricading streets, interfering with them doing the job they are supposed to do. Maybe you need to look a little closer because you aren't seeing the rea

Re: Ladder Bars for 3000 RPM classes - 8 months ago

We keep hearing that safety issues are reactive and not proactive. Sounds like the club is being proactive concerning safety. We also hear that many safety updates are written in blood.

Re: Kimmel canned!!! - 10 months ago

Mentally ill folks aren’t able to function normally. They are easily led by the nose and buy into whatever the cult leaders tell them to believe and do. Late night TV went to crap when Carson retired. Leno wasn’t horrible, Letterman was some worse, since then they’ve all been left wing hacks.

Re: Traction Control - 11 months ago

It won’t slow 1 tire, it will slow both tires. Unless you try and run a drive shaft to each tire independently like was tried in a modified back in the day.
