Re: Tarps! - 5 days ago

Couple things. #1 WOW that’s a lot of steel plates. #2 I would have never thought I’d see in my life a Vw beetle pulling vehicle. And to top it off it had a diesel engine sticking out of the front.

Re: Tomah Rant. - 9 days ago

QuoteDick Morgan I'm always confused when someone says " did you offer to help ".. NO, when you go to Walmart and the checkout lines are backed up do you open up another line and start checking people out, of course not. It's ridiculous to say the least. You bought a ticket, you paid money expecting a service in return. I believe what Supertiquer means is that the group that puts

Re: Tarps! - 11 days ago

The track at BG is crowned and packed after each session to make sure rain will fall off. If it rains they will peel any saturated muck off the top. The track can handle the peel off a few times and be fine. Some of the guys doing it have been doing it for like 40+ years. If they say they don’t want or need tarps then that’s that. They turned it around from a long torrential downpour to ready to

Re: Tomah Rant. - 11 days ago

Bowling Green doesn’t intentionally send both tracks at the same time. They are ran independently of each other and sometimes the timing syncs up. The goal is to run them through quick and efficiently because of the number of competitors.

Re: BAUER SSD - 4 weeks ago

Sorry, but the so called “cross dressing “ complaints are completely irrelevant at the GN level. It’s not a tractor, it’s a specialized competition vehicle built to resemble a tractor. What tractor factory assembly line did it come off of? So it looks green or red or whatever. It’s all custom built. They are just like nascar, or top level dragsters now. They have a brand name on some bodywork to

Re: Benson GN Cancelled - 2 months ago

So the question that comes to mind to me is this. Is this a sign that the same thing might happen to the pulling events scheduled at Dragway 42 as well? Same new owner… or is this an NTPA only conflict?

Re: Pulling fads? - 3 months ago

The actual side by side drag race pulling with the starting lights. The twin engine 4wd trucks like Budweiser boss, super stud. The crazy front angled plexiglass mudflap setups designed to shoot the dirt out the side on the 4wd trucks. Drivers in all kinds of different locations: Rambunctious on the front of the tractor as an example.

Re: Simons pull vs Hutchison GN - 9 months ago

RJ reserved the date 2 years ago based on availability of the bar/dining facility because it’s used for wedding receptions. It doesn’t help that Ntpa/PPL never seem to have dates posted till deep in the winter months. I’m not sure you can really say anyone dropped anything. People are going to go where they can Win bigger money potentially you would assume. Still working on getting a body to san

Re: My idea is to change BGs format for the run for the ring. - 10 months ago

QuoteJus a thought to ponder Why are the classes that run on Friday night and Saturday night actually chosen ? The promoter must want those classes for a reason to be shown during the biggest crowd attended sessions I would venture to guess. So if that is fact, then why would a promoter want to put several classes that he has already deemed not wanted during "prime time" in the promoters "prime

Re: Will there be pulloffs at Bowling Green? - 11 months ago

QuoteMN Fan I hope they do not have pull offs in BG. They are a waste of time and money. Quite often some of the pullers are unable or unwilling to come back out for a pull off and the one who wins only has to bump the sled a few feet, a complete waste of time. And to be honest, Why do they still refer to BG as the National Tractor Pulling Championships? The season isn't over with BG and

Re: Why is tractor/truck organizations still operating like it's 1980? - 1 year ago

QuotePpl puller 1980 . Bowling Green sells out what!! 3000- 4000 campsites in a few short weeks every year . How many thousand fans go . They had to put in stricter rules this year to tame the crowd #s there . I'd say the 1980 way of pulling is still working here . 2,121 campsites.

Re: BG Tickets - 1 year ago

Last year the phone company registered nearly 33,000 phone call attempts on March 1st alone. I wouldn’t doubt this year was any different. People that camp out to be first aren’t only locals. There are usually people from other states too.

Re: Light Pro and Limited Pro - 1 year ago

I’ll answer but in reverse order. When are they going to make them a GN class? When and if they feel they can get enough in the class that would travel all over the Midwest consistently and they could “sell” the class to promoters.. there are so many “similar” tractor classes to them that have been around longer. The other question is. Where would you park them at BG? Like seriously there is n

Re: New topic - 1 year ago

Many non nascar series have started doing a lot with hybrid technology. Maybe some crazy rich bored electrical engineer will go to a pull and think they want to spend a ton of money to R&D for the actual towing applications. Lol. Side note: I’m always amused when they describe the electric semis and brag how fast it accelerates. All I ever picture in my mind is loads shifting and falling out whe

Re: Hypothetical Unlimited Mod Build - 1 year ago

Roberts couldn’t get double stuff to work in sync. Said the drivetrain wasn’t happy and wanted to explode. So with your hypothetical build. I’m just not seeing you make the weight. If you could find a way though…. I’m

Re: No Practice Podcast - 1 year ago

The new rule about jumping more than one class up will cut out a few of the PS entries. Still think they can just score the GN points runners separately points wise. You finished 20th overall, but you are the 7th GN back you get points for 7th for points tally. The new 25 rule is all a big we aren’t happy pullers from the (other) series come and beat too many of our series at big events. The cre

Re: NTPA rules - 1 year ago

QuoteTOM Bauer's Double Nutted the first few years when NTPA came out with the Light Unlimited. The rules have changed a few times and that class still has not got off the ground. Double nutted dominated the class because he was able to make it light enough to fit one more motor than anyone else. They didn’t give the time for others to figure out how to do it too, they just changed the rul

Re: Bowling Green Policies and the money aspect - 1 year ago

The armband is to replace a full weekend pass which used to consist of 5 individual tickets which the office print, seperate, and stuff into each envelope 2 sets. Then they print all of the ones that go to Kroger stores and ones at the gates. Several pallets worth of printing tickets. Campground armbands basically copy’s many other festivals like country concert in southern Ohio. You can’t acce

Re: New competition rule for GN classes over 25 entries - 1 year ago

So it will just be run as a split class the way I’m reading correct? Split 1 aka GN first then split 2 aka everyone else. The distances all count toward the full class. All GN competitors competing as a sub class for their season points. If the track gets better at the full end it would be the same as having a low draw anyway. You are still getting the points that you came to compete for. The

Re: Horsepower difference - 4.1, 5.0, and true Pro Stock - 1 year ago

What is your reasoning for wanting minimum turbo size in GN PS? Not disagreeing, just wondering. Do you feel they slow the show down? Is the class too big because of all the so called “class filler”tractors with no chance? Do you think they screw the road that gets built sometimes and the rest of the class is bogged? Or do you just like the newer Mini rule where there is a minimum to pull GN.
