All three engines were legal everywhere when they were built. The JD 10.5 block was NTPA legal until it got caught up in the 903 cummins mess. The OHC deal started when some of the East Coast wimper kings started changing rules because they were worried somebody might have something they couldn't buy. The no OHC rule in prostock just appeared in the rule book a few years ago out of nowhwer

First of all I'm a big block deere guy brand loyalty is a great thing. The fact that their are practically no stock parts in any competitive prostock or ssd. I think its time to allow newer and more modern engines and set a bore spacing limit. A small block deere and a IH block are both at a big disadvantage with a smaller bore. If turbos and injection systems are equal the biggest bore w

We have a big block deere pro stock with OHC that was outlawed out of the blue. Some of the best prostocks in the country have push rod copies of these heads. We got no phone calls no discussion just put out. Also there are two diesel superstocks with 10.5 blocks which are much stronger than a 619. This block was made NTPA legal years ago. Same exact bore spacing as a 619. They can only be

Diesels are all ready out of control cost wise. I don't think some one who thinks for themselves should be penalized for building something different and cheaper. Especially if it was built to the rules when constructed. What difference does it make what kind of block and head it is if it meets the cubic inch limit? This sport was made by the barnyard engineer. Its now being ruled and p

Wonder how much extra stress a block takes with a roller cam that has 400# seat pressure and 900-1000 open pressure times 12 valves plus trying to open exhaust valve under pressure maybe an overhead cam makes sense on a diesel.
