It’s normal. Especially if you are letting the tractor idle a lot. We had good luck with keeping the rpms up over 2000 when idleing around the pits. It puts a little more heat in the engine which helps burn up more of that raw fuel that’s being dumped on top of the pistons.

Now this is only hear say but I was told that several years ago when Carl Smith was wanting to retire he was running a turbo that Stuart Maize wanted but couldn’t buy so he bought the whole tractor from Carl to get the turbo. Then the chassis supposedly ended up with Klint Tucker. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny any of this.

Pretty sure it’s Joel Kingens old Full Metal Jacket now owned and driven by Russ Yoder from Topeka IN. I think it’s a complete Shipley power plant.

The LSS class is gaining a really great family with the Linville’s. Hate to see them leave the smoke behind but really looking forward to them shaking up the light class with a GMS powerplant. Good luck guys!

Thanks for the input guys. Seems everyone really likes the Kubota. I’ve looked at them before and really like the way Stones equipment in Indiana sets them up with the pull/push bars, front weight brackets and the Cepeck tires.

I’m looking into buying a new pit vehicle and was wanting to know any positive and negative experiences that people have had on the Gator 865m and the Kubota 1100. It will be pushing/pulling an 8500 light pro stock. A lot of venues we go to have some slight to moderate grades in the pits made up of anything from grass to dirt to gravel. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Have to agree with Levi on this. You need to talk with Allen Powell. Sweet running TRUE Case.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn’t make too big of a stink because I’d like to see the class in Louisville for years to come. No sense in pissing the committee off in the inaugural year.

Does anyone know of a company that makes a bolt on kit with linkage and handles for a IH 5 speed Profab transmission?

Right. I thought Kline bought Barnyard Beast from Doug and re named it the green gate savage then was sold to Sonnetag and became savage. Then when sonnetag had Johnson build him a chassis, the original went to Parobek. Could be wrong about some of that though.

444 ounces is the correct amount for a 30.5 x 32 for a low speed application (40 mph and under). I’m not sure what kind of puller the op has but if they will be spinning over 40 mph the formula for calculating high speed applications is Tire height (in.) x full tire width (in.) divided by 10 = ounces per tire.

You would need to use 444 ounces per tire. Provided that you are tubeless. This product doesn’t work with tubes.

I think a lot of them are running 11L 15’s on anywhere from a 10 inch to a 12 inch wide wheel. Depends on how ballooned out you want them to look.

I wouldn't recommend the armor all on the tread. I've always had good luck just pressure washing all the dirt off and then using a microfiber towel and "invisible glass" glass cleaner on the tread to finish cleaning them to blacken them up. An armor all or something similar on the sidewalls is ok.

Pretty impressive that only a ton block was removed and basically the same top 3 distances were achieved by the smokers. That is if the same sled gear was used.
