I could be wrong here, but what I see is a lot of overreacting, and failure to pay attention to the details.
The press release from the NTPA states that Full Pull will have exclusive rights to Live Streaming.
This should have no bearing on still photography, or on video that will be posted at a later time.

That tag was used years ago by USHRA, the original TNT, and SRO promotions, I believe. It is a way to relate that class to the casual fan. Not necessarily needed at the farm show, I agree, but not anything new.

I occurs to me, that the difference might be merely skin deep.
With only a few exceptions, John Deere pullers are green, and IH/Case IH pullers are red. However, Fords, Chevrolets, and Dodges come in all colors. These color variations even among vehicles with the same body style provides a needed variety in those classes.

Like Charles, I completely understand your feelings, and to some degree share them.
However, my position on it is to remove myself, and look at the bigger picture.
Honestly, "well informed" or "well educated" fans are the minority, and a group that is shrinking every day. While there is a core group who know what engine block should match that sheet metal, there is a much larger group

The epicenter of pulling fandom is, no doubt, always going to be rural, middle America. However, the attitude that it will never be anything else, or will never have any appeal to urban or suburban people is a self-fulfilling prophesy. If you don't believe you can gain attention in those areas, you won't market to them, and if you don't market

I'm not talking about anyone's "personal"/private personality (that's part of the disconnect between us). I'm only talking about their public side. That's the side the average fan will see if you were to focus on personalities. The private life makes for a nice feel good story on Olympic broadcasts but doesn't grow the sport.

While I agree that marketing can improve where is the money to do this coming from? All 3 major organizations are working with limited staff and budgets. Just to wish/want something does not make it happen. And again where is the money coming from to raise purses, build marketing teams and take the sport to the next level. If memory serves me one of the major sponsor/owner h

I am amazed to listen to the people that claim that the sport has not become a major motorsports league because it hasn't been marketed right. They just say if the sport was promoted better there would be growth. They make it sound like the NTPA, PPL and the Outlaws just haven't tried hard enough to promote the sport. Or have done it the wrong way.

Personally I think the sports closest cousin is monster trucks and some guys follow drivers, but most follow the trucks.
I totally disagree here. Especially with modern sleds, pulling has more in common with drag racing.
Andy gave you one history lessen, I'll give another. Monster trucks at one time were a "sideshow" or "add on" at truck and tractor pulls. One

It's time to admit to yourself that you're not a purist. IT's OK... but be honest with yourself. If you saw someone say they weren't gay, but they do like watching dudes hook up... you'd laugh at that comment. That's exactly what your comment look

The problem with this, is that it requires the removal of the cover, every time the wheel size is checked. Putting the restriction on the housing itself, and being able to check with a plug, without any disassembly of the turbo is more efficient.

In order to differentiate Pro Stocks from the other iterations (light pro/limited pro/ even the 5.0 Regional pro), should the Pro Stocks be allowed to run 30.5 tires?
That would add a visible difference from the other forms of Pro Stock. They certainly have the power to effectively use the 30.5s.
At that point, what, other than a single exhaust would distinguis

Lots of good information here.
Another thing to consider, is that a diesel engine throttles on fuel, not air. Spark engines us a throttle blade or blades to control the airflow into the engine for the purpose of throttle control. With a diesel this is done using the fuel.

I’ve gotta agree with everything you said. Especially regarding commentators/announcers. I’ve been to pulls where the announcers came off as if they’ve never seen a puller in their life and listening to some of them is like “wtf is this feller even talking about?”. I think you hit it right on with media personalities. Whistlin diesel I think would really enjoy it

Here is the biggest problem. Nichols tire are not available but to the one he chooses them to be available to for the next couple of years. Which mean no matter what you try you will never get around them. Because the last few pulls they were out at last year no one could catch them. On a 300 plus foot track they were putting 30 feet easily on the rest of the class.

While my dad was involved in the very early years, by the time I was old enough to be aware, Marvin, Dennis, and Danny Bobb were the face of pulling in my family, and the connections to many others that have been names are there.
While they did, as stated by Dennis, "purchase some gears from Noble Harrison", most of what came out of th

Don Dean ran a set of 2255 Oliver planetary's for years and to my knowledge never broke any. He did change them last year because they were heavy and he wanted more front weight. I think the 2-180 planetary's were pretty much the same except they were inboard.

The rest of the reading, carries a decidedly anti-southern slant. Let's remember that history is written by the victors.

The confederate flag stands for a group of people who no longer wanted to be part of America. They wanted to leave this country and start their own (for one of the worst reasons in the history of mankind). What is more un-American than saying they didn't want to be part of America? They went to war AGAINST America. All you patriots that
