Pull fan, I respectfully disagree that combined classes don’t work. USA East runs Limited Pros and Super Farms together. They have for several years. This year’s points champion...A Super Farm. More wins and Top 5 finishes than any other tractor in the field. And it’s not a field of slouches. There are some TOUGH running Limited Pros.
The reason it works...The powers that be have worked HARD

Come out to the Canfield Fair Labor Day weekend. They will all be combined together on an outdoor track. Great venue and fantastic event! We will get to see it all play out first hand.
Can’t wait!

I know they make a product called a “can cooler”? It’s designed for that purpose. Never tried one but it’s one to consider.

Dick and Dana, I couldn’t agree more with you both.
I for one think that it is AWESOME that we have both of these events and hope that they are both wildly successful. I wish I could make it to both events but excited to see how they both turn out.
And good luck at both events Dana. I think your perspective on it all is fantastic. I also think it’s ok to examine both situations but let’s

That’s class, right there. I don’t know Klint from Adam, but when a guy gets on here and tries his best to make things right after getting bashed left and right for a mistake that was likely COMPLETELY out of his control. That shows real character. That’s a guy I’d like to see succeed and I’d certainly root for. Way to go Klint. I’m going to make it out to Gordyville one of these times.

For me it’s all about what equipment will be there. The more diesel powered machines (mainly tractors) the better. I also like events that I know will have manufacturer variety. (Gordyville is a prime example. I’m going to make it there someday!)
I also am a big fan of going to events that are either extremely well run in efficiency and/or have 2 tracks. If I know that I’m going to watch the s

I’ve heard that he is good. My worry is that I don’t know what I want/need necessarily and it’s my understanding that he’s so busy that it will be 6 months or longer to get them made. I don’t want to do that because that pushes me too hard to get I back together for next season.

Looking for someone to make custom gears for an Oliver 880. Done a lot of searching on the site but can’t find exactly what I’m looking for. Located in Western PA. Wanting 2 maybe 3 gears made (if they’ll fit) for it. It’s running in the Hot Rod V8 class. Any suggestions?

How much ground speed and what do those IH weights weigh a piece?

It all depends on your set up. How fast your trying to go, tire cut, etc. MOST guys don’t mount them on. I know for our set up, we added weight and it worked great. Much better hook and not really any harder to start. Now that’s double cuts. If you have a more aggressive bar cut they will be harder to start. But that’s the nature of a more aggressive cut as it is...
So that’s a hard one to giv

I can’t speak for the NTPA side, but I know that the USA EAST sanctioned classes are invitationals. The numbers in those classes are determined by the fair board and USA East, but with the fair making the bulk of the decision. 12 machines per class is what I believe the cut off was set to for the USA East classes. There were 12 tractors in both those classes (13 CSS actually because there was a n

It can be done. Not too much more difficult than putting a 5.9 in. It’s obviously bigger but can be done. Not sure where you’re located but there are some great resources for you to lean on.
Brad Maibach at Maibach Tractos is the best that I know of. He’s located in Creston, OH.

The Big Rigs Series for USA East went through this very scenario a few years back with multi turbocharged motors. Started the season with over 10 (12 maybe, I forget) and ended the year with less than half...They decided as a competitive group to go back to a single charger and it’s made a huge difference. They only had one machine with catastrophic failure this season, but it was nothing like wh

First of all, they aren’t making boat loads by making the video.....
But Secondly, what is wrong with a guy making some money for his time and effort of sharing a skill that he has...I believe that’s called work, or a job! Glad that they are able to make a little money when they can with it. Because if they didn’t make it for their videos YOUR advertising money would go to another Youtuber who

So many choices... Haha

Oh thank you.
Those look like a Double Cut. My concern is that I run into a lot of junky, loose tracks. It’s about 50/50 good and bad tracks. I know double cuts do well on hard clay tracks but it’s my understanding that they don’t do well on loose track...
Thoughts...
Considering a single V cut but not sure if that’s the right move or not.

Alright guys...In the market for a new set of tires for the V8 Hot Rod tractor.
The title says it...What is the best cut you can go with for a 20 mph ground speed machine. Variety of track surfaces etc.
So best cut and brand if there’s a preference.
I have my own thoughts but I always try to learn from other people if I can as well...
Thanks,

I agree on building the frame. But if you’re in Columbus, a visit to Maibachs to talk with him is very much worth it. He has helped so many. He took the time to talk to my Dad and I about a conversion. And he certainly knows how much the components will hold.
As far as gears, Keck Machinery is a great resource for that. I know for a fact he’s made Oliver gears and he’s made hot farm tractor g

There can be. But it can also work against you. We’ve found some circumstances where one size smaller is beneficial but some tracks it costs you distance because of a smaller footprint/traction. Double Cut tires do better the faster you spin them.
