Some clubs don’t allow cast centers as they are more prone to breakage. Some have started to require weld on hubs for the same reason.
OP doesn’t state what class he is pulling in, but that is the case in some clubs around here.

Most of those calls are on spoofed numbers. My SIL got one from her mother’s number.
I’ve probably received 50 in the last week. If the number isn’t in my contacts, it doesn’t get answered.

Portable scales can't be certified as legal for trade. There is a reason, they aren't that accurate and repeatable.

I've driven on the scale, driven off, then back on, and have seen 300 lbs. difference. If it isn't on a level concrete pad it can't be accurate, setting it on dirt is a joke.

And if they fine Clint the $2,500 they have threatened private businesses with, pass the hat and I bet you would get it in a short time.

I used a cable made to run a snow plow control. Got it from Knapheide truck equipment. They had numerous sizes and lengths. I think mine is 7’ long with Clovis ends, think I gave about $30 for it.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I remember the first mechanical sled he built with the suitcase weights on it. The first pull I ever attended was in Meyer, and I remember the F30 with the Olds being there. He really was a legend.

Do yourself a favor and use weld on hubs, cast hubs will break.

Riduculous!! That is 4 months away. Nothing like running away with tail between legs.
If that is how NTPA is going to conduct business in 2121, I fear most pullers will go to PPL and / or their area really good sanctioning body.
That will not bode well for keeping NTPA alive financially.
With the disasterous 2020 NTPA pull schedule, it is well past time for WPI manag

Not on a county by county basis, it is by “region”, and it appears that the region map looks a bit like our gerrymandered election district map- every region has a large population center which will probably continue to have cases when the rural areas don’t.

I’m afraid that once it makes it’s way through all the bigger cities, as is happening now, the powers that be won’t give a rat’s behind about it going through the rural areas. We don’t really matter, there aren’t many votes out here.

I’m in charge of our county fair pull. Four businesses that I had lined up as sponsors have contacted me in the last week that they will no longer be able to do so. I anticipate they won’t be the last to back out. Going to make having a show very difficult if I lose many more.

Pulled the neighbor’s M-5 at the county fair in 1968, step on sled. Didn’t pull again until about 1987 when I pulled my 1086 at the county fair, complete with saddle tanks (I wasn’t done spraying beans yet.) Did that for a couple of years at several local fairs, then started having kids and pulling went away. Built a classic modified M with a small block Chevy in 2013, been pulling it since.

The sleds could stop them at 175’ if that’s what is necessary. People seem to like runs of 340’, so that’s where we are.
