An advantage to this system, looking at it from afar, is that it prevents those per hook entries from affecting points races between competitors who run a full schedule. This is particularly important when a points race is decided at a big event like Bowling Green that draws in pullers who don't normally follow the complete circuit. The bull riding event at the Denver National Western Stock show this year paid $15,282.53 for second place in the bull riding first place paid 19,844.48 That’s for bull riding and you figure a bull rider if he has the best of everything: rope, vest, helmet, boots, spurs and chaps at $500 a piece would be $3000 in equipment.
