I've always looked at it as Out of the field is a mph class for farm tractors. I think Farmstock is similar with a 2.3 turbo limit but no speed limit. I like to watch what some of the mph tractors can do unleashed. But out of the field with a mph definitely draws mor tractors in our area.

That would not bring forward a valid point either way because of the variables involved year to year. There just too much that can change such as placings, class numbers, breakage, poor runs to get a validated decision.
Once again my opinion

If you're not a paying member to that level of pulling, why should you be determining the points for that level? At each level, people pay to run for that levels points as a group. It is in my opinion the fairest way to the pullers that pay for their points to give out points as they currently are.
Just my opinion

They will work. I know someone running 22" with 18.4. Might just take a little bit to get them to seat.

Correct me if I'm wrong with any of these, these are just a couple off the top of my head that used to pull around MN. One of them comes out randomly and the other ones it's been a few years, maybe sold or parted not sure
Nick Dahl- Red Terror
Randy Becker- Under dog
Bruce Barfnecht- Just One More
David Henderson- Stray Horse Gone Wild

There's at least 4 DSS that don't run anymore that are housed in Mn that I can think of off the top of my head. But the Stray Horse would be my guess. Very nice tractor just to sit around and collect dust.

Rotary pumps cost way more than p pumps in the long run and up front. You can pick up p pumps for under 2000 all day keeping the cost of getting into this class more affordable, and like you said the turbo limits it enough to keep it tame.

F30 Puller isn't questioning the performance of a rotary pump or anything about really policing being different. He is saying that a P-Pump is much more reliable and cheaper up front and in the long run. Hes looking at the grand scheme of cost on building to allow more people the opportunity to come into it. And I agree 100% with him on that side of things.
Just my 2 cents

I agree P Pumps are affordable and available. Pretty easy to find a good used p pump for a few thousand. Outlaw truck and tractor pullers have a very close class called super field I think. 466 3200 rpm P pump 3 lm box charger. Great plains tractor pullers in my area has a 466 10 mm A pump 3000 rpm 3lm charger that is also very popular. These classes are affordable and fun.

10,000 Pound Field Stock
10,000 pounds
18.4-38 - no cut tires
480 cubic inches
Diesel fuel only
Stock block and head castings
Stock make and model injection pump
Box turbo - 2.500" smooth bore
2600 max rpm
I like this class. The only thing I would change is the turbo rule. As field stock leads on it is mainly for stock out of the field tractors, I would make it a box 3LM 2.3 " Class

Does anyone know roughly how much should be taken off brake plates to better fit the brake disc on the pinion shaft with atlas brakes?
Thanks,

Longer tracks aren't the answer. Just turns it into more of a race then pull. Everyone will just put bigger gears in and try and go faster making a bigger safety risk for things to get crossed. The liability in it far outweighs the benefits. No reason to change sleds and tracks for one class. Let the ONE class adapt to conditions, don't make the hole sport adapt to one class.

Let the drivers adapt and leave the sleds as they are. Simple answer to a problem. If the drivers have issues driving, then they need to learn how to drive or maybe reduce hp a little to get the machine to hook up. Not a sled issue

I used to run a 466 5x22 single feeds, gt 42 on a p pump at 720 cc and was 1000. I would think you should be at least 800

There has been a few post about his the last month or so. Seems like a lot of guys are saying $5.00 a gallon is the line. I have 24 pulls on my calendar and I'm looking at eliminating half of them that I don't have to be at with $5 a gallon fuel
