Re: heavy pics!!!!! - 12 years ago
harley bought it,as of a few yrs ago the tranny and rear stayed local, and the clutch too.someone was supposed to be using them locally.will probably end up with another tr someday after our son gets out of school.id like to try a turbo gas motor in the farm stock or open farm, but i imagine that wouldn't go over to good...by patches - Forum

i would think if the herc could compete in any diesel class,it would be on the track competeing now.to me the herc has been out for almost 40 yrs and surely by now it has been tried at some point, and deemed not a good option.same for the cat diesel too.by patches - Forum

Re: Stroking the engine???? - 13 years ago
also the wrist pin must be moved up in the piston, shorter comp height,or the rod shortened.both must be altered half of the increase in stroke.ex;stroke now is 5" cto c of rod 10" pin ht 5"/half of stroke is2.5+10"rod+5"ph=17.5 deck ht---new stroke 10" so rod is shortened 2.5"(half of stroke)to 7.5" and pin ht of 5"/half of stroke is 5"+7.5"rod+5"ph+17.5 deck ht---or new stroke of 10" same rodby patches - Forum

Re: getting started?? - 13 years ago
you might want to step back and look at something like a open farm class.little less motor, lot less expense.maybe look at thge 8.3 cummins too.the cat head doesnt flow well either, compared to your competition..by patches - Forum
Re: methenol - 13 years ago
it is a completely different fuel system, from the filters to the injectors.also the methanol requires a ignition system, which you would need to add.in short diesel cannot be drained and alcohol added, either way it will noy work..by patches - Forum

making pullin more interesting - 13 years ago
what do you guys have for ideas for making it more interesting to follow for the casual fan.i love pulling as much as the next guy an d would classify myself as a student,as dick described that..i like the idea of the brackets ,as they were described last summer, that outlaws used for thier large classes.that sounds like it would make a class more followable, and even be run at different times duriby patches - Forum
