You know if you actually attended the NFMS this year than you will see that your predictions are wrong.

Yea they basically did not follow their own rules. I was there and I'm pretty sure the first 5 or 6 tractors that hooked went past 300. The sled should have been reset after the first 3 or 4 did this and not just float the finish. It did put on a heck of a show for the fans. Wasn't exactly safe at the end of the track.

Problem was that the first 3 tractors that hooked went 300+. They then decided to run a floating finish. Well as the class went on the track got better and better. Last hook in the class won. The only reason they didn't go farther is a concrete wall. Bad judgement on someone's part.

No kidding. It wasn't illegal last year. Period. It is illegal this year. If it makes that much of a difference on a SF running a 3" charger and about 900cc of fuel. What is the difference in HP gonna be on a Pro or DSS? If its being talked about here then its most likely been used by most of them all year.

I didn't start this thread to hate on the superfarm class. I started it to get people's opinions on the future class at the NFMS. Just wanted to know if anyone had any changes of their picks after Gordyville. Come on people we know there are some out there that don't really like the superfarm class but the ones that do don't care. Yea there are some issues with the class but i

I don't know why everyone says that the superfarm class is not watched at the NFMS. Every year I'm there the seats are full and the halls are empty. No offense to the modified guys but that is the least watched class from what I can tell. It's a great class outdoors don't get me wrong. The halls are full of people when mods are hooking and empty when superfarms are hooking. Ma

Pretty sure that NTPA rules state that the sample valve for the water and fuel have to be on the supply side. Also it states that the engine has to be running as well. I would just check with other pullers in your area.

It's really going to depend on your setup and what weight class u are running. I would start around 10-12 psi and go from there. Just remember that a flat ball doesn't bounce.

The class sounds like a great idea but why not make the cubic inch limit like 360. This way the 354 Perkins and the 5.9 cummins could play. This would allow Oliver, MF, and White to compete. Also make the weight like 5000 or 5500.

Pretty sure a true 466 with a 3x4 would not keep up with a high level superfarm. Unless you are in KY and that little blue bottle is involved.

Yes all of the 1100 series transmissions are the same. I would try and find an 8 speed trans as the multipower 12 speeds will not hold up to the torque of a superfarm or a lim pro. The bellhousing is what is different between the 6 and 8 cylinder Perkins. Depending on your budget though stick a profab in it. It will save you money in the long run and hold up to whatever you put in front of it.

No chance on turning 4000 RPM with a 2.5 charger. You are going to need at least a 2.8-3.0 to make that engine turn that hard down the track. Just be careful though it likes to melt pistons running like that and 510 Perkins pistons are not cheap and getting harder to find.

Plain and simple, the V-8 will not win a superfarm class in today's Ntpa or Ppl. Why would u want to spend a boat load of money on the V-8 when it most likely wont win with a 3x3 turbo? The Sisu makes way more torque than the V-8 when running a superfarm setup. Why not spend the initial money on and engine that competes and can win. The first hook on the brand new Sisu motor the Batliners wo

Listen I'm just trying to help by giving some options. I love the V-8 as much as anyone else. The billet crank will not happen for a while because I'm sure Carlton Cope would be first in line. If you want to run the Sisu, the Batliners have a way to bolt it to the 1100 series Massey transmission and rear end. Also I'm pretty sure you can run updated sheet metal too. And again if yo

I have been following the Batliners for years and know for a fact that the V-8 will not compete in the superfarm class. If it was possible then they would still be trying. The problem with the V-8 is that the stroke is not possible and the torque curve is not it the right area for the superfarm turbo. While yes it is true that if you give the V-8 RPM it will run with the best of them. Carlton Cop

Dont know about the 8 but they do have a straight 7 but the only problem with the engine is that it is 4 valves per cylinder and is electronic fuel injection. There was never a 2 valve head made for the engine and the cubic inch is too big for the light class. It would be a great engine in my opinion because it wouldnt take much to get to the 504 limit and factory heads are not an issues there an

Here's the best answer I think. If thou have very deep pockets and want to try the V8 go ahead. If you want to win in superfarm then get a Sisu and take it to REI. Stroke is the reason that the V8 will not compete in the superfarm class. You just can't beat a 6 inch stroke with a 5 inch stroke, there is not enough air to keep the RPMs up on the V8. There are a few videos of Batliners Ma

I agree with everyone else that it takes money to win at any level in pulling. I do not agree that a Massey will not run in the superfarm class. The V-8 motors will run but will never win, but the Sisu motors will run very well and the Batliners have one in their superfarm. They had some issues with it early in the year but really started to come into its own after Bowling Green. It made some rea

The first thing is what are your turbo rules and cubic inch rule? The factory 12-speed will hold up for a while but the best thing to do is to swap it out with an 8-speed. The V-8 motor likes to run with a lot of RPM, but if you start with a good cam and turbo setup they can run right there with the rest of them. I know there is a 1155 running around in IN that has been running really good in the

Ok if you want low end torque then go with the 8.4 and make the bore smaller. The factory stroke on an 8.4 is 5.7. If you are making the bore smaller and using stock stroke then bore spacing will not matter. Also the heads on both motors flow pretty good from what I have heard and I would just use the billet injectors from Columbus. They will give you all the fuel you need to turn the charger. Wh

I'm not sure what the differences between the 8.4 and the 7.4. I know they have an 8.4 and lately have been running very, very good in their class. I think Riverside built their short block, but you could always try and get a hold of them cause as far as I know they are the only ones running a Sisu right now. They are a really nice group of people to talk to.

I would say that using the 7.4L Sisu is your best bet. This way you can use stock size parts and stock crank. Also the guys over in Europe have been using these engines and seem to be performing very well with them. And I'm pretty sure that they have a 510 cubic inch limit.

The ford is a good choice for different color and brand as is the MF. Don't really know what rearend the Ford guys are using but the MF guys are using the old style rear that came in the 1155s and the 1130s I think. The Batliners from IN are running the 8.4 Sisu with the old style MF rearend have been running very well with the MidSouth guys.
