Yes I've heard of a pulloff, although it was a floating finish all weekend so it's hard to change the rules in the middle of the game. That wouldn't be fair to the JD then. The other issue with a pulloff is would Bushwacker be willing to pull again that quickly, given he had just put so much heat into that motor?

Yes it was a bad deal for Bushwacker. Was he really first or second? We will never know for sure. Unfortunately mistakes happen and the best resolution at the time was to move the sled back to its marks. Is it a bad deal? Yes. But what is a better solution? I feel bad for Bushwacker but at the same time would like to congratulate the JD from Ohio on the win! (Name escapes me at the moment

Thanks for all of the info and responses. I'm going to go ahead and see if I can get ahold of this 766 and put it together. (Already have the engine). I'll look into a larger clutch as well. Anymore info or responses, please send them my way!

That sounds promising, although I'm going to be using a stock rear. I'm guessing the 4.1 tractor has some upgraded parts in it?

I'm thinking of building a 766 puller on 20.8x38 tires for the 10k+ lb farmstock classes. I'm looking at dropping a 466ci diesel in a 766 gas tractor.
Will the rear handle the power of a hopped up 466? (300+ horsepower)
How much power will the rear handle?
Should I be looking for a 966 or bigger instead?
Is the rear the same between any models? (766, 966, 1066, 1466)

Because a lot of "farm stock" tractors pull out of the shop to pull, not the field.

I'm unsure of why they changed, although it was a decision they made last year. I remember them announcing it at last years pull.

I was at Wilmington, OH last night and it was a great showing for this class. 25 tractors pulled and only one didn't make a full pass. I'm excited to see what the rest of the summer brings!
