I remember seeing the ATPA years ago at pulls and on tv, and PPL with its class names and sponsorships is clearly its successor. But what exactly happened to the ATPA?

How much horsepower is your engine producing? I've been told by many pullers that powershifts are great for farming but not for pulling. Once start making so much power, the powershift won't hold up anymore.

I have nothing really against the 320ft bubble rule NTPA has, my biggest issue is where you will see some classes such as Hot Farm pulling 380ft. If you look at videos of Outlaws Limited Light Pro Stock at the Thunder In The Valley pull they are all going well beyond 350ft on a Baeur sled. I know most pullers prefer the floating finish as it saves on the engines. But when some classes are going f

Looking over the past few years it seems that at most pulls the sleds are not stopping pullers as quickly as they use to. The distance of 300 ft is no longer the winning pull but a necessity for one to have a "good run". I've seen some sled operators still able to stop pullers with few going beyond 300 (yes I'm talking about the "professional" pullers). So are sled operators setting the

Seeing the number of posts about upcoming Test and Tunes brings up one NTPA pull from not so far ago past, the Pull and Shine in Brigden, Ontario. There pullers would basically bring their trucks and tractors out of the barn, dust them off, and hope it stays together when going down the track. How many here remember this pull?

The super stock class you also have to look at the pullers. Terry Blackbourn has always been someone to watch for when behind the wheel of a superstock. Joe Kwiatkowski on both color tractors has been a competitor. When the Gettinger's were in Super Stock Diesel they were Esdon Lehn's biggest rival. So the puller I think matters. After all this past year at Bowling Green in the first se

Depends on the class. In antique tractors gas and lp are king due to gas being the primary version of the tractors. Looking at the specs of the older Farmall tractors gas and lp out of the factory had higher horsepower than the diesels. But with the newer tractors (the Case 970 and 1070 come to mind) with more horsepower diesel is desired due to the fuel consumption and with pulling the thicker

My family has a c-301 in our 656 bored to around 335 and we have an 806 carb not modified. The sleeve inside the carb can be swapped out since the 806, 706, and 606 carb are all the same size but different size sleeves. Our tractor for years turned 5000rpm but couldn't really idle so we put in the sleeve for a 706 and it helped tremendously. But the c-301 is not a cheap date so to speak as f

My family puts on a pull in Michigan each year and what we usually do is spray it with Roundup and 2,4-D the week of the pull usually on a Monday or a Tuesday. The track is not opened up until the day of the pull giving the weeds time to die and so that if it rains that week the track is not overwet. Usually we put on around 1,000 gallons of water on the track and it is preferred after so long of

Yes coolers must be 12'x12"x12" and I know at the entrance near the Retired Tractors Museum they have a device you must be able to pass the cooler through. Definitely bring hearing protection.

Is it just me or is anyone else think the class is too heavy? Because I know some 10,000lb Pro Stock tractors use to be able to make weight and pull in the 8,000lb Super Stock class. I know this seems weird but I think if they want to run a light class have them weigh in at 5600lb like with light super.

I do not know if Fat Bottom Girl is going to run that good. Last I knew for the past couple seasons it was on the floor in parts. Before that it was not the best. For the price I do not even want to know how much money is needed to be put into the tractor.

The problem is also that Super Stocks are expensive. Especially on the grand national level. I know one puller that had a 3688 Super Stock that won at Bowling Green years ago. He got out of it because it was expensive. But is 8500lb really the weight to have for a light class? I know some Pro Stocks could make the 8000lb weight limit and pull in Super Stock. I can understand the dwindling numbers

I am curious as to how much less money is needed to build a Light Pro Stock than a Super Stock Diesel? Also why have a lighter class? I know many of the longtime SSD pullers would weigh there tractors up to 12,200lb. Why don't they just play with the Pro Stocks? If they want a class with only ag rearends why don't they just have it do that all component tractors must pull in Super Stock

What is with all of this animosity going on in the forums between Nebraska Bush Pullers and the Outlaw Pullers? If people want to discuss this do it here and not on a local pull thread.

I don't understand the point of a limited pro stock class. Isn't that what the super farm class is? It was created as a limited power and cheaper class to pull in than the pro stock. I would like to see some organization to run a pro stock class with only ag tractors run instead of components. Pro stock is not what it use to be with seeing pullers build Minneapolis Moline with a John De

Did the 70 series come with the 8 speed manual at all? I like the looks of the 70 series best and I just want a tractor that I could build up as time goes by. Right now I ddon't have the budget to build a grand national points champion tractor but a good regional competitor. I would settle for stock sheet metal and even stock front end if the hydrostatic would hold up. I know a custom front

Thank you that is a big help. I'm right now trying to collect as much information as I can before I begin to pour in money. I do not know a whole lot about Case tractors since I have been around Internationals my whole life. I want to build a super farm but to be honest I am tired of seeing all of these International 1066's being the only tractors against the John Deeres. I have seen ma
