What magnets are you guys using for the sled box RPM pickups? Have the whole plug and sensor but not a magnet. Would the local hardware store have what I need? Fridge magnet? How much pull is needed? Looking to get something quick, don’t have time to wait on the snail mail. Any help is appreciated

Anything above second high you have to come out harder. Third with torque back probably about 3/4 throttle and slip the clutch a little depending on weight and how hard the line hooks

How long has it been since 3 different color tractors went 1-2-3 in a high level pro stock class? I was super happy to see an IH based engine in second, and a true Case engine in third.

This is Lewis conner Jake if you can get me signed back in i would appreciate turbo on computerer blew up and i cant get it done ,Now for the poor excuse of the longevity of engines being pushed to hard thats the pullers stupidity not the fans fault as stated all classes go around the same speed and the same distance Make some rules that cut the power back to get the longevity back

Here is an argument for pulloffs, anymore everybody is pushing too hard and on the ragged edge every pass down the track. I agree, not having pulloffs took away some of the excitement but it was for longevity reasons. Parts are hard to come by anymore and are expensive. Too many bridges have been crossed to turn back to give vehicles reliability like they had a short 20 years ago when guys would

For running an 8mph pace class at 9500 lbs, what tire would you take and why? 18.4-42 20.8-38 and 24.5-32 are the options. Currently have 20.8’s, any advantages to the other two?

What Logan Thomas said, i would recommend ripping with a chisel plow, then use a disk to work the water in but make sure you get water down in. Best case is use the chisel and disk at the same time if you have the equipment and operator to do so. 8” deep is plenty deep

I thought they did a decent job. Tony tried his best. It was his first year announcing there and he tried to learn as much about the classes as possible beforehand including talking to pullers. Overall I think they did good. Announcing is not always the easiest especially when you have half a dozen classes that the tractors look the same. My advice would be dont poke at announcers unless you’ve a

Talking to different pullers at Keystone this weekend, I wonder if a State organization could become a thing again in PA like back in the 90’s. Biggest problem I see is no organizations seem to want to work together. ITTPA, FPP/USA East, Snyder County, and East Coast all have pullers, but would they work together to make their classes alike? I feel like it would help numbers for everyone if peopl

Trying to start a new topic thats not PPL, recast block, or farm show related. What do you feel the best uncut pulling tire is for farm stock tractors, say 9500-13500 weight range? I like my firestone radials but would love a set of deep tread radials to try. BFG’s just don’t seem as consistant in my area. Lets hear your thoughts!

(I.E. if your tractor was produced from 1970-1980 you can run your 79’ and 80’ model)
-Contest is open to diesel, gas, and propane tractors. All non diesel fueled tractors must use a single barrel updraft carburetor. Strombergs ARE allowed. No alcohol fuels allowed.
-ALL tractors must retain the engine b

The way the class is we fall under the insurance of whatever event we run at. We do not run our own class insurance. Most of the places we run, we are the only class with an enforced rpm limit. Furthermore, it will not get to the point of running road gear in an 8mph class that I can assure you. I will post a copy of all rules here

And like I said some of these tractors are still truly farm tractors and used as such. Mandating that would eliminate over half the class. And I understand the heating cycles as well…guys aint slipping the clutch to run road gear at 8mph

Steel flywheels not required. Its 3,000 rpm checked every hook as well as randomly if theres any question. Cast disintigrates at 3500rpm, while we are not opposed to people running them they are not required. Some of the tractors that run with us are still used on the farm and truly farm tractors. Its an 8mph entry level class, not requiring a steel flywheel for that with a 3,000 rpm limit

Just a turbo clarification, it is a 2.30 inlet and 2.50 outlet max to allow other brands such as Garrett and Holset to be utilized as well. As long as the turbo meets those dimensions it is legal. Glad to see you considering joining us. With a .450 pump, I dont see why 350 wouldn’t be obtainable on the low end. The S257sxe is a really good turbo to match these smaller cube tractors. Best of luck

What are your thoughts on a 12,000 bracket class double elimination style, no cut tires, 20 high 18 back hitch only rules straight up weight. Speed limit from 6-10 mph drawn from a hat day of. $100 buy in payout determined by number of tractors. Inputs? Thoughts? Suggestions? Has the potential to be a reality in south central PA this summer

Not taking away from that Zac, but you could always tell who had the patience to run it. Not saying thats the only thing thats who won all the time. It was a combination of setup and driving. A lot of people are too impatient for the pace tractor or even pace board now

They used to have a pace tractor around here, if the driver layer back the pace tractor would slow down to match his speed, that way the driver couldn't do the lay back and wait game. The puller had to speed up until the pace tractor had no more throttle. This made it a lot more Interesting.
And that showed you who the real drivers were to be able to run the pace tractor lik

A lot depends on your area rules. I know for a turbo farm stock class it can be done relatively cheap if you’re patient in finding parts. My 1206 runs 6-10 mph farm stock classes competitively and I have less than 6k in the tractor itself, figure 7-10k for a used gooseneck, and if you go with an older 7.3 add another 10-15k for one with some miles but still in decent shape. May be able to even ge

Thanks, just looking to figure out if these would be a good spare set to keep. I run 6 and 8 mph pace classes so nothing crazy. The petersons are going on it and they are ductile iron which is 90,000 psi tensile strength vs 35-40000 psi for cast/maleable iron so much stronger. Some people refer to the Petersons as steel but I’ve heard of guys running them up over 1,000 hp with no issues and it co
