Todd,
Alcohol Supers are terrible about washing the cylinders down, the 70wt will stay on sleeves and pistons better than any other, piston scuffing went to a minimum after using 70! Sometimes its hard to get, the 60 Blue oil is good stuff, but the 70 was the best in my experience.

50 is not heavy enough in a SS engine, 60 minimum or Lucas Nitro 70 worked best for me when I ran a SS at 100+ lbs of boost, pistons lifters rings sleeves, everything looked a bunch better after switching to 70!

I am a Promoter and to be diligent business man, I have looked into both organizations...and the cost is nearly identical for an apples to apples show. Lucas kicks in most of the extra money paid at the shows. This is a huge boon for PPL, but is owned by Lucas Oil anyway so would be expected. Both Organizations offer excellent shows, and do a great job running them. A lot of the time the decision

The Parking situation at BG for the Pullers is to put it mildly Terrible! Even when I was a NTPA precommitt we still couldn't get a good spot.

Why would someone spend minimum of $750 dollars and as much as $1950 to not run any events unless catastrophic damage knocked them out?

Dick,
You asked about costs...A GN level Pro Stock new build is around $350,000. A Gn level TWD $160,000 this is to build all new, no the Guy didn't have any parts laying around and no he wasn't able to really do any of the work himself. Maintaining if no unexpected damage occurs usually isn't bad, Travelling to events gets to be the main costs, but oil changes are over a $12

We use Krylon, they have a paint good for plastic and such, but also just their Satin Black will work, just spray adhesion promoter first. A nice layer of Black Gorilla tape under the lexan on the body will help it last longer.

Some teams buy an extra and use it for Dyno research only while keeping the track setup together ready to run...just another point of view! Doesn't mean its any less.

One thing I would like to say, is I do believe that Mr. Schreier has done what he believed was best for the NTPA, I feel he Loves the Organization and did the very best job he could. I have not agreed with some decisions and directions they have gone over the years, but it is easy to sit back and be an arm chair critic of the job folks have done. The NTPA is a strong organization with great safet

Morgan Lucas has been very involved in the Top level decision making for PPL, and all the Motorsports branches for quiet a while now! It'll be fine as I said its all making money and giving them places to showcase their sponsors.

Did any of you Knee jerkers realize that 3 People have been Killed in the last 5 seasons of the Drag Boat series? Plus it just wasn't making enough money to be viable, but especially considering the Danger in the Sport, its a business decision plain and Simple! The Pulling side of PPL has been a great Advertising tool for Lucas Oil, you have to understand, it is run as a For Profit Business,

Dick,
I understand exactly what your saying Dick, and it is correct at this point in time...but look at all the money being spent in the last 5 years in Pulling, Competitors are stepping up to the plate to make Pulling better by spending huge amounts of money to build better vehicles and Haulers, Pit Crew uniforms tow vehicles you name it! ITS TIME ALL PULLING ASSOCIATIONS DO THEIR PART AN

I totally disagree with the thought we cant Police it...There is always a way to check for something! The Guy who builds it knows how to check for it, do they also have to have driveline sensors to compare to engine RPM? This stuff isn't magic its electronic, and certain things have to be there for it to work! I've recently seen some things in TWD class that raised my Eyebrows, and I kn

I think Mike's role in it was and is very important! Besides funding I mean His Eyes on what is going on ,out on the track and what changes to be made! I've had people on me all year because I'm not driving one of our Trucks, but my position as Crew Chief is more important to me than driving because we want to do well as a Team, and I am sure Mike feels the same way! Personally,
I Love the Hamburg Pull! Its a Big venue, this year had a Good Track for the Trucks anyway, great attendance, the Fair is Huge and fun, many folks walk over to the Casino and have fun there at night. BG is a cluster! We all wanna win it but, its as much a "Show" as anything anymore! We are allowed 2 hot pit passes, so that means I have to tow the truck and sit and wait and move

I don't know if Lazy is the right terminology, I use that sometimes in describing the young people I meet's attributes, but lack of attention span is maybe more accurate! How many of us rode along with some other Puller to events learning and helping, and spending countless hours in the shop, first doing pretty much bottom rung tasks? Kids these days think they do something twice they a

An issue such as this should not be considered by the Pullers, this is a Safety issue of parts actually hurting or killing Spectators, it should come down from Mr O, and John Mears, and a build to date assigned. I don't know if going component is necessary in this class. Possibly requiring an aftermarket steel fabricated Trumpet housing that is both shorter and stronger, and aftermarket Non welded axle setup could be much safer. Yes its going to take some money, but it will protect your motor as well. Plus lighten the chassis a bit which is good as well. The rest of the rearend is sufficient for yea

Bryan,
Good topic and an important one, been Pulling, involved in associations and GN Pulling all over the country for last 15 years, its not the rules or the classes, or the location (for the most part) , it falls back on the Promoters of the events! If Don Slama ran a National Pull Promoter School things would improve by 50% in 2 years alone. Then teach the promoters to offer other interes
