I used a grinder and cutoff wheel took about 45 min then grinded it with a regular wheel lost about 35 pounds. Just watch where u cut with the wheel. A 6' wheel works great.

I now own A 686 that was Tom Harmon's tractor called "Preparation H" back in the middle 80"s. From there it went to Gary Knapp. Not really sure about the rest of its life but i bought it from Charlie Hunt in 2008. At that time it was called City Slicker. Its had many different names threw the years like Little Hyper. When we bought it the tractor was back on one charger. We ran it like that

The only stock gear we use is the 4th 5th combo for direct. I don't know of very many people that use the stock gears unless they like to see how much hps it takes to their them up.

I know of two different tractors that are using a 656 and a 666 both are using the stock direct gear. They both have stock ring and pinion gears, bull gears. One tractor has a 466 and the other has a 360 both have more power than you are looking for and are holding up fine. You can us either ring setup 13,14,or 16. The 16 came in 656 utility and all will fit without any mods.

A stock backing plate will fit. Even the front cover from a truck without a water pump from a 300 will fit on a 400.

As a lss puller adding more weight will just allow them to go farther down the track. If you things more equal take weight away and make them drive it. If you cant drive it at that weight don't build it!!!

I think a good answer to make the lss more equal instead of giving more weight take some away to make it a drivers challenge instead of power.

I went to a counterwieghted crank half way through the season and found that it ran smoother as in less vibration. We run a 300 series motor. I had to change the length of the piston for the counterwieghts. Also had to do alot of grinding in the block for clearance of the counterwieght. Overall I'd do it again less vibration. We are a diesel lss. Tryin to run between 4500 - 5000 rpms down th

As in what? cubes charger things like that or what pistons are in the engine or what type of tires? If told you that we wouldn't have any secrets. I thought that what pulling was all about secrets.

We would like to make some pulls with bsp. I'm planning on coming to the meeting on sat. Maybe we can come to agreement on way to make it work for everyone. We all pull together in the winter sessions why not in the summer too. And maybe you'll see different tractors there also not just the same show every week.
