I don’t notice it being affected by time in my circumstances often. I’ll give you the example that I saw this weekend...
6:30 show start time...
2 tractor classes pulled - It was the finals so that was only 8 MAYBE 12 tractors that hooked. Then the 6200 4x4 Trucks were 3rd
I watched at least 25 people get up in front of me and leave. I happened to run to restroom at that time and watched

I agree with you 100% Mostly the same...If I paid for the whole thing I’m Staying!!! It doesn’t matter if it’s indoor or not. And whether or not it’s a class I do or don’t like. It surprises me how many people don’t view it that way tho.
Would anyone’s answer change if it was outdoors? Because I see this happen at both indoor and outdoor events...

Hey all...This question is inspired by the great show put on at the Keystone Nationals...
It was interesting to me how many people I watched leave after the 6200 pound 4x4 Truck class. This is not the first time I’ve seen this phenomenon. Very often I see people clear out after a particular truck class...
So it got me thinking...If you had to go and watch only one class and then get up and

First off, great to have a new fan go watch. Always love that.
I agree that near the end of the track are the best because you can see the entire hook and get a better gauge of how that competitor stacked up in the standings. If it’s a “bowl shaped” arena I’m not a big fan of watching the machines come straight at you but it’s your preference.
Usually at an indoor event though, most of th

I agree 100%. We lower our front bracket a little bit for the very reason overdrawnbimder said.
Plus...It’s easier for the pit man (that’s me haha) that has to throw the weight. But ultimately, it’s all in what YOU like. Because you can still balance that tractor with either set up.

Is there any benefit to going from the double cut radials to the full cut biased or would that be going the wrong direction?

Might seem like a no brainer but looking for opinions to help get prepared
Have a Pull coming up this summer on a cinder track. Currently run Firestone Radial Double Cuts at 12.5 - 13 pounds. Pull at 6500 pounds. That’s typical set up on a dirt track.
What changes would you make for this event? Air pressure? Just weight? Different gear? A combination of these? Change tires (Have a set of f

I just checked their site and I’m not seeing anything listed on there. They already have a pretty full lineup. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see them out there but I don’t think it’s going to happen this year.

InjPumpEd...I learned something new today. Thanks for that info. Obviously from my screen name, I love me a Cummins. Actually thought about building a tractor with an 8.3 myself. Know that they are obviously not used as much as the B series. Figured you could switch out pumps but didn’t know some came that way. Thank you for the info. So if that’s the case, it sounds like the head is the “weak li

It isn’t the engine that the famous B series is. But part of it, I believe is lack of hi-performance parts. That being said, I would imagine the guys out at Scheid or Haisley would still be able to help you get one running pretty well. I do believe that their heads don’t flow as much and their fuel delivery system sucks if you go with what came on them from the factory. I think it was a CAPS pump

Yes to Smokin John. Ferringer Pulling team still runs it. Still a good running tractor. Runs in the Limited Pro Stock class and was the 2018 USA East Points Champion. I’m not certain about the Broadway Express.

Adam will be making a tank for our V-8. I know I’m talking to him and seeing pictures of his work, there’s nothing that he can make. I think that you’d be happy with what he makes. He has pictures of dual tanks that he’s done

Everyone on here has some great points. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it used to be that you could only drop 3 or 6 unless it was a mechanical issue. If it went back to that instead of dropping clear to the end (as the track often improves...Not always...But I would say more often than not) but that would negate the opportunity for as many huge changes simply because of a time factor. I agree with

Thanks for all of the tips guys. Do they allow bleacher seats or is it hard seat, raw butt guaranteed? Does the pit pass cost extra or just make you not have to exit every session?

So I’ve never been to Gordyville but plan on going this year...Anyone have any helpful tips? I haven’t bought tickets yet because I’m waiting to see what the travel weather will be like. Will they sell out? Do I need to reserve some now? How early do I need to be there to get a good seat?
Like I said any tips would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to it.
Thanks guys

Wow guys thanks for the contacts. Also dealing with the tank, I know a lot of guys use aluminum? Was originally thinking stainless because of heat dissipation being less with stainless into the fuel? Am I overthinking this? Should I just go with aluminum?

I’m looking for someone to make a stainless steel tank. Does anyone have a good option for that? I need a somewhat specific tank size. I thought I could get one from The Buggy Shop but they don’t seem to be able accommodate my needs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rams don’t fall apart around the Cummins anymore. 15 years ago, yes. Trust me I had one. But now, no.
As far as the torque thoughts....That’s interesting. Didn’t know they were that close. I guess I’d be interested to see the whole curve because I don’t think anyone can argue that a V-8 will make more torque than an I-6 throughout the RPM range...
But as you said...They both are good. I’m

Really depends on what you like and how you drive. If you like the stomp down, high rpms, buy the Ford. If you drive a little less heavy footed, buy the Cummins. They both are good machines and make good power but obviously the I-6 is gonna have the grunt lower in the RPMS.
As far as the Ford purists hating on the Ram... I USED to agree with them. The Ram was pretty chinsy until about 2012. S

You may have an issue. Best I know to tell you, is to actually replace 4th Gear. And the reason for that is because you want to keep 5th and 6th. Plus, you can’t easily switch out 5th gear in an Oliver transmission because it’s on the low end side and 3rd Gear actually goes inside of 5th to turn it. So that leaves 4th to be your only real replacement gear. Your only other option would be to run
