LLSS alky question February 05, 2012 12:56PM
Is a IH D310 a good option for a Alky burner for the LLSS class. What are most guys running. Also how many rpm's are most guys turning.

Re: LLSS alky question February 07, 2012 07:47AM
Which LLSS? OH/KY/TN with the 370 CID & 3x4 slotted turbo? I'm pretty sure there are decubed 414's & 301's in there, not sure about anything else.

Are you referring to the 'German diesel'? What is it's bore & stroke?

TN Yes was talking about the German D310. I had not really gave a thought to decubing a 414. This would prob be my best bet. How hard are most guys turning the motors in the LLSS Class.

310 IH diesel engine has some discussion history on tymag.com, a thrifty engine on fuel, expensi ve to work on---cross flow head with individual ports, but doubtful the base head will flow with the IH 300 series (312, 360) or truck heads. RPMs, for the majority of the class, once under way, run 4400 to 5000 on a good track, some tractors, Sipes Family Tradition, Dibbles Itty Bitty Binder, may well run above 5000 down the track on the majority of their runs. Brad's Powell's Cut Loose (a 414 destroked)has made a number of runs holding 5000, after launching in the 5300-5500 range, and has not been to the dyno since the new rebuild---could get interesting!!! The Deutz's and the Unbridled Spirit Ford diesels may run 5k down the track---they are strong and consistent runners.

What is the power level the top 3x4 guys are at? How would 800-900 horses do in the LLSS class?

Re: LLSS alky question February 10, 2012 12:42AM
1000-1450

What final gear ratios are you guys running? What kind of wheel speeds are they turning? Definitely an up and coming class, but the videos on the net don't do them justice.

Re: LLSS alky question February 10, 2012 01:45AM
800-900Hp would be 30 to 40 feet behind and it costs a $1000 a foot to get to the front.

Re: LLSS alky question February 10, 2012 05:32AM
that power wasn't shown in Murfreesboro. The LLSS there wasn't very good imo. People really need to get a handle on tuning.

Someone is using a machine shop with lots of middle men or full of poo poo

Re: LLSS alky question February 10, 2012 12:47PM
so, just how many real hp is 1377 on the dyno ?

Re: LLSS alky question February 10, 2012 05:45PM
well I'll tell ya, 1377hp wasn't shown at that pull in the LLSS, well maybe if you take and add two tractors together.
